Abstract

1,001,850. Fabric sacks. GUISEPPE DUBINI & C., S.p.A. Aug. 1, 1962 [Aug. 1, 1961], No. 29611/62. Heading B8K. [Also in Divisions A4 and B5] Containers or bags of textile fibres are formed from a two-layered fabric connected together at spaced transverse and longitudinal strips during the weaving, cuts being made along the middle of some or all of the strips to separate the bags. The fabric may be of width equal to twice the depth of a bag as in Fig. 1, and is connected along the warp at the middle Sl and along the weft at St at intervals equal to the width of the bag, and the bags are formed by cutting along the connection strips at x and y. The edges of the bags may be reinforced at Sm, and the bags may be turned inside out to leave the cut connection strips inside the bag. The fabric may be of width equal to half that of Fig. 1, in which case the longitudinal warp connecting strip is half as wide and needs no cutting. The fabric may have half-width longitudinal edge connections Sm<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 7, and the transverse connections are two bag depths apart, whereby the bottom of the bags are formed by cutting along the middle of the transverse connections at x and the bag openings formed by cutting transversely at x<SP>1</SP>. Handles may be attached by press-buttons. By using synthetic fibres, the layers may be joined by thermal fusing at the same time as the cutting.
