Abstract

Hydraulic cement of the Portland type is prepared from a high-alkali clinker by grinding the clinker in an atmosphere of water vapour or steam which may be either injected into the mill as such or formed therein from water sprayed on the hot clinker, with an addition of 2-5% of quicklime or freshly hydrated lime.
