Abstract

1,000,441. Injection devices. STERILON CORPORATION. March 22, 1963 [Sept. 21,1962], No. 11405/63. Heading A5R. An apparatus for intravenous administration of fluids includes a flask 10 (adapted to contain the fluid) closed eyestopper 12, a cell unit 16 comprising a chamber 18 having a fluid inlet stem 22 which is in communication with the interior of the flask 10 at one end, and having outlet 26 coupled to fluid delivery conduit 28 at the other end, the cell housing a valve ball 34 which is buoyed to an open position when there is fluid in the cell 16 and which drops by gravity on to valve seat 32 when no fluid is present in the cell 16. The device is such that there is always a head of fluid in the device below said valve. The flask is provided with air inlet tube 14.
