Abstract

The item of footwear is provided with rolling means 50 to enable the item of footwear to roll over a surface when the rolling means is in a first active position. The item of footwear has retracting means (34) for retracting the rolling means 50 to a second latent position, thereby disabling the rolling means and preventing the item of footwear from rolling over a surface. The roller may be deployed by sliding a yoke 34, which directs the roller pin 54 along a channel (Fig 2b, 42).
