Abstract

L’invention concerne un procédé de géolocalisation d’un terminal (20) d’un système (10) de communication sans fil. Le terminal détecte, pour au moins un dispositif émetteur (40), un identifiant (ID3) du dispositif émetteur. Le terminal effectue une compression avec perte de l’identifiant du dispositif émetteur pour obtenir un identifiant réduit (CID1), puis il envoie cet identifiant réduit au réseau d’accès dans un message. Le réseau d’accès est capable de déterminer l’identifiant du dispositif émetteur à partir de l’identifiant réduit, d’une information de discrimination (Info3) déterminée à partir du message reçu, et d’une base de données (33) de résolution d’ambiguïté permettant de construire plusieurs listes d’identifiants de dispositifs émetteurs associées chacune respectivement à une valeur différente de l’information de discrimination. La position géographique du terminal peut ensuite être estimée à partir de l’identifiant du dispositif émetteur et à l’aide d’une base de données (51) de géolocalisation mémorisant une liste d’identifiants de dispositifs émetteurs et les positions géographiques respectives desdits dispositifs émetteurs. The terminal performs a lossy compression of the identifier of the transmitting device to obtain a reduced identifier (CID1), then it sends this reduced identifier to the access network in a message. The access network is capable of determining the identifier of the transmitting device from the reduced identifier, from a discrimination information (Info3) determined from the received message, and from an ambiguity resolution database (33) making it possible to construct several lists of identifiers of transmitting devices each associated respectively with a different value of the discrimination information. The geographical position of the terminal can then be estimated from the identifier of the transmitting device and using a geolocation database (51) storing a list of identifiers of transmitting devices and the respective geographical positions of said transmitting devices.
