Procédé de fabrication d’un document électronique (30) comportant une bande magnétique cachée comportant une étape (22) de fourniture d’une surface (310) d’un corps de document électronique (30), une étape (23) d’application d’une bande magnétique (33) sur au moins une partie de la surface de corps de document électronique (30), une surface apparente (34), formée par la surface du corps (310) recouverte au moins en partie par la bande magnétique (33), présentant un contraste DeltaE égal ou inférieur à 15, et une étape (24, 25, 26) d’application d’un décor (32) recouvrant la surface du corps (310) par-dessus la bande magnétique (33), le décor (32) ayant une épaisseur d’au plus 10 μm et présentant un rapport d’opacité aux longueurs d’onde du domaine visible d’au moins 70% ; et document électronique (30) correspondant.
