Abstract
Figure pour l’abrégé : Figure 1 Adaptation device (Fig1.1) of Personal Protective Equipment ear protection (Fig1.E), without degradation of the characteristics of said PPE, to an acoustic tube (Fig1.4) allowing the wearer, according to different versions of external drilling (Fig1.3), the mixing of sound messages from the communication system (Fig1.R) and the external sound environment. Description
The problem of communication in noise remains a major concern for exposed personnel for their safety and the proper execution of voice instructions. From a certain level of noise, European regulations require the wearing of hearing protection with the appropriate characteristics and the attenuation necessary to protect the hearing of personnel. There are individual hearing protectors containing acoustic filters to partially filter the sounds and promote understanding of speech, but from a certain noise level and in particular from more than 95 dB, verbal communication becomes difficult. anyway impossible; the protectors continue to protect but the formal perception of the voice of an interlocutor for security or instructions becomes approximate.
A whole family of wired or radio-connected noise canceling products is then necessary in order to transmit voice information intelligibly. .
Currently, for users of personal ear protection PPE such as standard or custom molded earplugs with acoustic filters, there is no simple solution that does not degrade the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), because a The solution often used is the drilling of a second channel parallel to the acoustic filter in order to directly connect the ear to an often spiral acoustic tube, itself connected to an earpiece from a radio or communication system. If this modification is made, category III noise-canceling PPE which must be certified by a notified body according to standard EN 352-2 in fact loses its certification and cannot claim the designation of noise-canceling according to European regulations. .
The invention described below allows the manufacture according to these recommendations of an adapter providing a solution adapted to the sound environment and to the use of the PPE without modification. We will take for example a standard noise canceling with acoustic filter (Fig1.F) described by the European Patent 2469734, the system can be transposed to other products by taking care to adjust the dimensions.
The communication adapter (Fig1.1) for acoustic filter (Fig1.F) of individual hearing protector (Fig1.E) is composed of a part allowing the coupling (Fig1.C) of the input of the acoustic filter (Fig1 .Fe) and a tube holder integral with the system (Fig1.2) allowing for example the connection of a twisted flexible acoustic tube (Fig1.4). The invention includes a bore on this adapter outward with a diameter (Fig1.3) of different dimensions. The user will choose, depending on the ambient sound levels, the aperture (figs 2.1 to 3) that best suits the understanding of voice messages. In the example shown, 3 types of adapters are proposed, the advantage of the most open diameter is the best listening to the sound environment then, the best listening to the voice messages transmitted by the acoustic tube via the radio by the positioning index on the adapter to close the opening of said adapter. For loud sound levels, the adapter with the smallest hole will provide better understanding of the sound messages constantly passing through the acoustic tube to the detriment of the immediate sound environment. It is noted that the ear PPE by itself (Fig1.E) represented here by the input of the acoustic filter is not modified and retains all these intrinsic characteristics, the external sound like the sound of the communication system (Fig1 .R) transmitted by its earphone (Fig1.e) via the spiral tube (Fig1.4) pass through the inlet of the filter which will filter the mixture of the two.
