DESCRIPTION OF THE ECO-FRIENDLY HARVESTING PEST BARRIER

The barrier aims to protect plants against the invasion of slugs, snails or any crawling animal that devastates them, without any use of chemicals. It is completely ecological.

It consists of a structure, made of metal or synthetic material (PVC), which surrounds the part to be protected. This structure is in the form of a flat-bottom gutter, the rim of which is curved outward and curved inward and the bottom pierced with holes to allow drainage, essential for the efficiency of the system.

The gutter must be lined with natural repellents at the bottom: egg shells, sandstone, sand, nuts, crushed shells, pine needles, silica, crushed glass, diatom powder, vermiculite diatom powder, barbed wire, etc ...

The goal is to prevent the pest from entering the cultivated area.

The curved outer part makes it difficult for pests to progress (they stagnate most of the time in this rim, which makes it possible to eliminate them easily).

If this first barrier is not enough and the animal continues its progression, the bottom of the gutter, lined with repellents, prevents the pest from crossing.

The internal rim, 3 cm higher than the external rim, is curved to prevent projections of potting soil due to the gardener's handling and to facilitate his work.

The outside rim must be free of potting soil or leaves that could allow pests to pass.

This barrier can be installed on a table (for example, sowing and transplanting plant table, located at breast height to facilitate work), on the ground (market garden) or in a greenhouse.
