FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to the field of quilting containers for coffins.

STATE OF THE ART

The setting in beer is an operation carried out by the funeral directors before the burial or the cremation of a deceased person. It consists in placing the body of the deceased person in a coffin. A coffin is usually made up of a box and a cover. The box is a hollow compartment intended to accommodate the body of the deceased. A box generally includes, at least four handles for carrying, a biodegradable bowl which lines the bottom of the coffin and a plate bearing the name, first name as well as the years of birth and death. It can include upholstery and / or decoration both outside and inside. Upholstery typically includes a quilt pad, blanket and pillow.

The quilt pad in a coffin is made of fabric. It thus represents comfort and ensures a certain aestheticism in the coffin. It can cover all the interior walls of the coffin box and can also include a coffin tower covering the upper part of the coffin box, in particular for the purpose of hiding the screws of the coffin box. The quilting tray completely covers the inside surface of the coffin box and this can also overflow to cover the outside edges of the box when the beer is put into beer. The quilt pad may also include padding material.

The most used textile materials in the realization of a quilting tray are satin, which is the traditionally used material, or textile materials of natural origin such as linen, cotton or silk which are used for reasons ecological. Other materials such as taffeta or velvet can also be used.

In order to completely cover the inner surface of the coffin box as well as the outer edges of this box, the quilting tank can be made using a fabric which is placed and then fixed on the box. However, with this type of quilting tray, the part covering the outer edges of the coffin must be able to be retracted into the coffin in order to allow the latter to be closed and must be removable. It is not directly fixed, but only more or less adjusted. To be perfectly adjusted both inside and on the outer edges of the coffin casing, several solutions exist: for example the manufacture of a quilting tank whose dimensions correspond perfectly to the model and dimensions of the coffin.

A second solution consists in manufacturing a quilting container in two parts comprising a lower part intended to cover the inside surface of the coffin box and an upper part intended to cover the outer edges of the coffin box comprising elastic cords. The upper part can be detached from the quilting tank (this is called a coffin tower).

Thus, in the case of a quilting container comprising elastic cords, this upper part can be stretched and then placed on the outer edges of the coffin. The quilting tray is then fixed with staples in the inner part of the coffin. The elasticity of the elastic cords ensures the retention of the part intended to use the outer edges of the box as well as the adjustment inside the coffin box.

However, the production of this type of quilting tank is complex and includes several manufacturing steps. It requires a certain dexterity and special tools. Indeed, it would be necessary to master the technique of assembling a flat material, for example a satin, linen or cotton fabric, with elastic cords. In addition, the part covering the outer edges of the coffin box must have an aesthetic appearance which is difficult to obtain by this type of process. Indeed, the fabric assembled with the elastic cords is often loose and creates folds, or unsightly non-stretched areas.

There is therefore an obvious need to implement a coffin quilting tray with a simple manufacturing process, easy to install, and compatible for all models of casket boxes.

The Applicant has therefore proposed to make a coffin quilting container made of an elastic textile. This quilt pad is used to solve the problems encountered during the manufacture and use of the quilt pads existing in the prior art.

DEFINITIONS

In the present invention, the terms below are defined as follows:

By "quilt pad" means the element of a coffin pad capable of completely covering the inner surface as well as the outer edges of a coffin box.

By "box" is meant, in general, an object forming a hollow part, for example a piece of furniture. In the case of our invention, the coffin box corresponds to the hollow part capable of receiving the body of the deceased and which will be covered by the coffin cover.

By "set of seams" means the assembly of two or more pieces of the same fabric or different fabrics by a series of points, these points forming a straight or curved line and / or can form an axis.

By "Stretching" is meant the elongation of at least one dimension of an element.

By “elastic deformation range” is meant the range of stretch that an element can undergo reversibly, that is to say by regaining its shape and its initial size when the force causing the stretch does not exercise more. The area of elastic deformation is measured by a tensile test which is a test well known to those skilled in the art.

By "Piece" is meant a woven fabric on which one can make cuts or seams. According to one embodiment, seams are made on the piece of elastic textile to make a quilt.

By "Textile" is meant a material obtained by assembling yarns, fibers and / or filaments by any process such as for example weaving or knitting.

"Elastic cord" means an elastic band associated with the fabric of a quilting container or a coffin tower, so as to be fixed around the coffin casing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a quilting box of a coffin box made of elastic textile.

For a better understanding of the invention, it is necessary to precisely define a coffin box on which the coffin quilting tank is intended. A coffin box 10, as illustrated in FIG. 3, comprises a horizontal bottom 11. By "horizontal bottom" is meant the bottom of the coffin box intended to be placed on the ground when the deceased is in a horizontal position relative to the ground. A coffin box also includes substantially vertical faces 12. By substantially vertical faces is meant faces substantially perpendicular to the horizontal bottom 11. By the term "substantially vertical" is meant more or less 35 °, 30 °, 25 ° , 20 °, 10 ° or 5 ° to the vertical axis. The substantially vertical faces are assembled to the horizontal bottom 11 by gluing, fitting together, by fixing means, any combination of these assembly methods or by any other means known to those skilled in the art. The horizontal bottom and the substantially vertical faces form a box. The substantially vertical faces 12 of the coffin box each include free ends 13. By "free ends" means the edges opposite the vertical bottom on which is brought to be placed the coffin cover. These free ends 13 define an opening of the coffin box. The opening of the coffin box corresponds to the free zone opposite the horizontal bottom 11. It is through this opening that the deceased is introduced into the coffin box. It is also on this opening that the lid of the coffin will be placed when it is closed. The free ends 13 thus go around the opening and the perimeter of the opening of the coffin box therefore corresponds to the sum of the lengths of these free ends 13. The coffin box also comprises an internal surface 14 and an external surface 15. The inner surface 14 being the surface of the coffin box intended to be inside the coffin when the latter is closed by the cover. The external surface 15 being the surface of the coffin box intended to be outside the coffin when the latter is closed by the cover.

The present invention, an embodiment of which is illustrated in FIG. 1, consists of a quilting tank 1 for a coffin casing as described above. This quilting tank 1 is an elastic textile bordered by a peripheral border 4 whose length at rest is less than the perimeter of the opening of the box, and whose limit length in elastic stretching is greater than the perimeter of the opening of the box.

The peripheral border 4 consists of the upper border going around the quilting tank 1. In one embodiment, by “length of the peripheral border 4” is meant the necessary distance, starting from a point of the peripheral border 4 and following this same border, to make the complete turn of the quilting tank 1. The length of this peripheral edge 4 therefore corresponds to the length of the turn of the quilting tank 1 or the turn of the peripheral edge 4.

By "length at rest" is meant here the length of the peripheral edge 4 of the quilting tank 1 in its initial form, or when no tensile or pressure stress is applied to the quilting tank 1. By "length elastic stretch limit ”means the length of the peripheral edge 4 of the quilting tank 1 at its maximum stretch in its elastic range. In other words, stretching beyond this limit would cause plastic deformation of the elastic fabric of the quilting tank 1. In one embodiment, the peripheral edge 4 of the quilting tank 1 has a length in elastic stretching at least 1% , 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 30%, or 40% greater than the opening perimeter of the box.

In order to mount the quilting tray 1 on the coffin box 10, the operator places the quilting tray 1 inside the coffin box. It thus applies a tension in order to stretch the quilting tray 1 by its peripheral edge until a stretch is obtained making it possible to cover the free ends 13 of the coffin box. Once the quilting tray has been sufficiently stretched, the operator turns over the quilting tray 1 so that the peripheral edge 4 of the quilting tray is in contact with the outer surface 15 covering all of the free ends 13 of the box coffin 10.

By virtue of the fact that the initial length of the peripheral border 4 is less than the perimeter of the opening, the elastic textile will exert a force returning to its initial shape. The quilting tank 1 will thus undergo around an adjustment tension around the peripheral edges 4, and perfectly match the contours of the coffin box. The quilting tank 1, when it is stretched, is capable of being folded over the outer surface 15 of the substantially vertical faces 12 of the box 10, by releasing the stretching constraint.

In one embodiment, the quilt pad 1 is made from one or more textile pieces. In one embodiment, the quilting tank comprises a lower part 3 for covering the interior surface 14 of the coffin box 10 and an upper part 2 for covering the free ends 13 of the coffin box 10 by stretching.

The upper part 2 of the quilting tank 1 comprises the peripheral border 4.

The lower part 3 is intended to completely cover the inner surface 14 of the coffin box. The upper part 2 is intended to cover the free ends 13 of the coffin box 10. In one embodiment, the upper part 2 is also intended to cover at least partially the external surface of the faces 12 of the coffin box 10. By increasing covering the faces 12, we will thus stretch the quilting tank 1 and reduce the amount of quilting tank in contact with the interior surface 14 of the box. In this embodiment, the quilting tray 1 is adjustable as a function of the depth of the coffin box 10.

The lower part 3 and the upper part 2 are integral with one another. In an embodiment not shown, the lower part 3 and the upper part 2 are joined together by a set of seams. The lower part 3 and the upper part 2 can be made from the same elastic textile or from two different elastic textiles. In this case, the elastic textile of the upper part 2 is at least as elastic as the elastic textile of the lower part 3. By "at least as elastic" is meant that the area of elastic deformation of the elastic textile of the upper part 2 is equal to or greater than that of the elastic textile of the lower part 3.

The perimeter of the upper part 2 is less than the perimeter of the opening of the coffin box 10, and the area of elastic deformation of the elastic textile is such that the perimeter of the upper part 2, at the maximum of its elastic deformation, is greater around the opening of the casket box 10.

According to one embodiment, the elastic textile of the quilting tank 1 has an elastic deformation range of up to at least 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100% or at least 150% stretch in all directions of space. The elastic textile and the quilting tray 1 are capable of being stretched in this area without undergoing plastic deformation or rupture.

In other words, the limit length in elastic stretching of the peripheral border 4 is between 101% and 250% of the length at rest of said peripheral border 4.

According to one embodiment, the elastic textile is a textile commonly called “stretch fabric”. According to one embodiment, the elastic textile comprises fibers of elastane, polyester, viscose, cotton, lycra ™, or any combination of the preceding fibers. According to one embodiment, the elastic textile further comprises fibers having elastic properties similar to those of elastane or polyester. According to one embodiment, the fibers are mixtures of fibers previously mentioned.

In one embodiment, the elastic textile is composed of 100% cotton or polyester fibers with a weaving giving the textile elastic properties. In another embodiment, the elastic textile comprises a base of cotton, viscose, or polyester fibers and a content of elastane or lycra fibers between 2 and 20%, preferably between 5 and 15%. These percentages are mass percentages.

According to one embodiment, the elastic textile comprises at least one layer of elastic textile.

In one embodiment, the elastic textile of the quilting tank 1 also comprises lateral sides. These lateral sides are the sides intended to cover the internal surface 14 of the substantially vertical faces 12 of the coffin casing 10. In one embodiment, the elastic textile of the quilting tank 1 comprises at least one set of seams 5 on at least two lateral sides. Preferably, as illustrated in FIG. 4, the quilting tank 1 comprises at least one set of seams 5 on the lateral sides intended to cover the two faces at the longitudinal ends of the coffin box 10. The two faces at the longitudinal ends of the coffin box are the faces intended to be opposite the feet and the head of the deceased.

According to an embodiment illustrated in FIG. 7, the lower part 3 of the quilting tank 1 further comprises at least two sets of seams arranged perpendicular to the two sets of seams on the lateral sides. By "arranged perpendicularly" is meant arranged perpendicularly when the quilting tank is mounted on the coffin box. This embodiment makes it possible to remove an excess of superfluous volume to cover the interior surface 14 of the coffin box 10.

According to an embodiment illustrated in FIG. 5 and FIG. 8, the coffin quilting tray comprises a bottom of quilting tray configured to cover the horizontal bottom of the coffin box and this bottom of the quilting tray comprises a set of seams 5 on its length.

In an embodiment illustrated in FIG. 2, the quilting tank 1 comprises a return or a reverse 8. In this embodiment, the upper part 2 is turned over so that the internal surface 7 of the quilting tank passes to the exterior of the quilting tank 1. The upper part 2 is folded upside down in the extension of the quilting tank 1. In this embodiment, the upper part 2 comprises two layers of elastic textile. When this upper part 2 is turned over to cover the free ends 13 of the box, the return or the back 8 will form an additional thickness of covering. This additional thickness allows a more homogeneous covering, without folds, and more effectively hiding the free ends 13 of the coffin box. These two layers will also allow a better adjustment of the elastic textile on the free ends 13 of the coffin box. This return or reverse 8 makes it possible to optimize the adjustment tension of the quilting tray 1 on the coffin box 10.

In one embodiment, this return or setback 8 is fixed irremovably to the outer surface 6 of the quilting tank 1 by any fixing means known to those skilled in the art.

In an embodiment illustrated in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, this return or this reverse 8 is fixed in a non-removable manner to the external surface 6 of the quilting tank by at least one set of seams 5 over the entire length or at least part of the length of the return or lapel 8. This at least one set of seams can be made on the end of the quilting tray or on any height of the return or lapel. In one embodiment, this at least one set of seams is produced so as to complete the complete turn of the return or of the reverse 8 or at least partially realize the turn of the return or of the reverse 8. In one embodiment, this set of seams is an overlock made to maintain this lapel. The overlock can be a stitch stitch made astride the two edges of the upper part to be joined. In one embodiment, this return or this cuff 8 is fixed to the outer surface 6 of the quilting tank 1 by at least one flat seam.

In one embodiment, the quilt box 1 is configured to be compatible with a wide range of casket box sizes 10. According to one embodiment, the quilt box 1 is compatible with any type of coffin box comprising a opening perimeter between the length of the peripheral edge of the quilting tank at rest and the limit length in elastic stretching of the peripheral edge of the quilting tank. In one embodiment, a coffin quilting tray is capable of covering all the coffin boxes having a length between 175 cm and 205 cm and a width between 55 and 65 cm. In one embodiment, the dimensions of the quilting tray are configured to adapt to coffin boxes for children whose length can vary from 60 cm to 150 cm and the width can vary from 30 to 50 cm.

In one embodiment, the quilt pad 1 is made from a piece of elastic fabric. The elastic textile piece is preferably a rectangular elastic textile piece comprising two short sides ("widths") and two long sides ("lengths"). The textile piece is folded in the direction of its width so as to join the angles two by two. The two short sides are thus arranged one on the other and the long sides are folded in half. Each long side is then sewn to create a seam set along each long side folded in half.

The short sides of the initial elastic piece of textile thus form the peripheral edges 4 of the quilting tank 1.

The quilting tank 1 thus produced is rectangular in shape and includes an opening delimited by peripheral edges 4 corresponding to the two smallest sides of the initial piece of textile.

According to one embodiment, the upper part 2 of the elastic textile does not include an elastic cord. Thus, there will not be a need to integrate attachment means, for maintaining the quilting tank 1 on the free ends 13 of the box 10. In addition, according to one embodiment, the quilting tank 1 does not include an elastic cord around the upper part 3. Similarly, according to one embodiment, the elastic fabric does not include elastic cords between two layers of textiles. Therefore, the manufacturing process will be faster because it will not be necessary, with the elastic textile, to integrate elastics for the maintenance of the quilting tank 1 on the free ends 13 of the coffin box.

The invention also relates to a kit comprising a quilt box 1 according to the present invention and a coffin box 10. In one embodiment, said coffin box is compatible with said quilt box 1. According to one embodiment, the opening of said coffin box 10 has a perimeter between the length at rest of the peripheral edge 4 of the quilting tank 1 and the limit length in elastic stretching of the peripheral edge 4 of the quilting tank 1.

EXAMPLES

The present invention will be better understood on reading the following examples which illustrate the invention without limitation.

An elastic piece of rectangular cotton fabric of 250 cm by 190 cm is provided.

This rectangular piece is folded and sewn according to the manufacturing process of the present invention so as to form a quilting tank measuring 190 cm by 125 cm.

A tensile test is carried out on the quilting tank formed lengthwise.

The results show that the quilting tank has a limit length in elastic stretching of 282 cm, that is to say an elongation 92 cm relative to its length at rest (ie a range of elastic deformation going up to a stretching of approximately 48% relative to its dimension at rest).

For such a quilting tank, the length at rest of the peripheral border is equal to 380 cm (twice the length) and the limit length in elastic stretching of the peripheral border is equal to 564 cm.

In the same way, a second quilting box is made in the same way as above, which is successively mounted on several caskets of coffins whose perimeter of the opening can range from 430 cm to 550 cm.

As illustrated in Figure 9, we note that the quilting tray adapts perfectly to the coffin boxes, without the presence of folds. The adjustment tension created by the elastic fabric allows the padding tank to be held without additional elements. In addition, the Applicant has surprisingly noticed that this type of quilting tray is much easier and quicker to mount on a coffin box than those of the prior art. This is explained in particular that because the quilting tanks according to the present invention are much more malleable since they are not intended for a single well defined size.

Claims (7)

1. quilt box (1) of a coffin box (10), said coffin box (10) comprising a horizontal bottom (11) and substantially vertical faces (12) 5 forming a box whose free ends (13) define an opening; characterized in that said quilting tank (1) is an elastic textile and is bordered by a peripheral border (4) of which: - the length at rest is less than the perimeter of the opening of the box (10); and 10 - the limit length in elastic stretching is greater than the perimeter of the opening of the box (10). 2. quilt pad (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that it is made from one or more textile pieces, and comprises: - a lower part (3) covering the inner surface of the 15 box (14); and - An upper part (2) covering the free ends (13) of the box by stretching. 3. quilt pad (1) according to claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the elastic textile comprises fibers of elastane, polyester, viscose, 20 cotton, or any combination of the above fibers. 4. quilt pad (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the limit length in elastic stretching of the peripheral edge (4) is between 101% and 250% of the length at rest of said edge peripheral (4). 5. quilt pad (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the 25 elastic textile further comprises: - lateral sides; and - at least one set of seams (5) on at least two lateral sides. 6. quilt pad (1) according to any one of claims 2 to 5, wherein the upper part (2) comprises a return or a cuff (8) fixed to the outer surface (6) of the quilt pad (1 ) by at least one set of seams. 7.
