The present invention relates to a retractable armrest secured to a vehicle seat. In addition, this armrest is placed in the vicinity of the vehicle door.

Conventionally, the interior trim of the front doors of motor vehicles generally comprises a protruding part which forms an armrest to rest the forearm of the passengers.
