Abstract

L'invention est un procédé de coulée d'un alliage métallique, et en particulier un alliage d'aluminium, dans une lingotière s'étendant selon un axe vertical, la section horizontale de la lingotière étant parallélépipédique. Durant la coulée, un champ magnétique alternatif glissant est appliqué à une phase liquide de l'alliage, le champ magnétique présentant une amplitude maximale se propageant selon un axe de propagation. Sous l'effet du champ magnétique, une Force de Lorentz s'applique à ladite phase liquide de l'alliage, de telle sorte qu'une force de Lorentz d'intensité maximale se propage selon l'axe de propagation. Le procédé selon l'invention comporte une modulation de ladite intensité maximale de la force de Lorentz, se propageant selon l'axe de propagation. Cette modulation est obtenue par une variation temporelle d'un ou plusieurs paramètres, dits paramètres de force, régissant la force de Lorentz. L'invention est également un lingot obtenu par le procédé. L'invention permet une réduction significative de macroségrégations dites intermittentes, ces dernières étant à l'origine d'une distribution spatiale inhomogène d'éléments d'alliage dans le lingot. Le lingot obtenu est ainsi plus homogène.
