A cet effet, le couvercle arrière 9 est fixé sur une charnière 12 et comporte une portion de surface plane 13 située près de la charnière 12 qui vient en appui positif sur le chambranle 13 de la charnière 12, tandis que la partie courante du couvercle 9 est courbe. Le couvercle avant 8 est fixé sur une charnière 14 disposée à l'arrière de la tranche 15 de la paroi avant du corps 2 de manière que le bord 8a du couvercle 8 vienne en appui sur la surface de la tranche 15 de façon concomitante avec l'extrémité du couvercle arrière 9 sur laquelle l'extrémité du couvercle avant 8 repose. Une lanière 16 comportant une boucle est fixée à l'extrémité du couvercle avant 8. Cette boucle saisie avec les doigts permet d'ouvrir le couvercle avant 8 en le faisant pivoter autour de sa charnière. L'espace intérieur de la console 1 est formé par la paroi interne du corps 2 et les surfaces internes des couvercles avant 8 et arrière 9. Cette configuration permet de générer un réceptacle 24 possédant un grand volume utile à l'intérieur de l'élément de rangement 1. Les côtés extérieurs sont démunis de parois pour fournir des ouvertures latérales 18. Seuls des rebords 19 de hauteurs limités sont prévus dans la continuité de la surface latérale 18 afin de maintenir et retenir les petits objets déposés dans la console 1.
