Abstract

The device has a fixed plate arranged with a movable plate for placing a bottle. The plates are provided with two storeys that are arranged against a neck part of the bottle for distributing compressive force on the neck part and a body part of the bottle to compress existing shapes of the bottle. A holding rod is inserted into the bottle to avoid the bottle escaping from a compression phase. A double upright part is fixed on a vertical support via a mounting foot. Upright supports are arranged on a base of the fixed plate.

Description

The present invention relates to a manual device that allows the compacting of plastic bottles of all types from 0.3 to 2 liters, including soft drinks (sparkling water, soft drinks ...), and without putting the cap on the bottle once compacted. Bottle stoppers are subject to special value chains (charity associations ...), and bottles without their cap can no longer be compacted by hand. There are devices for compacting corkless bottles using thermal or electrical energy, but none are marketed to date for ecological and economic reasons. There are also manual or pedal compactors but they have three disadvantages: * / The poor maintenance of the bottle makes random compaction especially for soft drink bottles. * / They require to screw the plug after compacting. * / Finally these compactors are not suitable for all forms of bottles: They are provided with a hole to let the neck, but some bottles have a short neck and large diameter (fruit juice), when others have an opposite morphology with a neck of small diameter and very long (gaseous waters). It is therefore apparent from the prior art that no apparatus with muscle strength is able to effectively compact any type of bottle that their necks are wide or sharp, without putting the cap. The device according to the invention makes it possible to remedy these 3 problems by 3 innovations: It comprises two trays, one fixed, the other mobile between which is placed vertically the bottle to be compacted. This position "neck up" avoids any risk of liquid flow remaining in the bottle. The movable plate consists of two stages for distributing the compressive force partly on the neck and partly on the body of the bottle. This mobile double stage tray allows the device to compact all shapes of bottles. The holding rod is inserted inside the bottle. It prevents it from escaping during compression. The mobile platform then crushes the bottle by a lever system that increases the effort that the user exerts on the handle. This gearing is based on the principle "crank / connecting rod". Thus when the handle of the crank is at the highest or lowest of its trajectory, the moving plate reaches the "top dead center" or the "bottom dead center". A stop located on the trajectory of the crank slightly after the bottom dead point ensures the maintenance of the movable plate in the position or compression is maximum. This position is self-maintained because the resistance force that the bottle exerts on the movable plate tends to turn the crank side of the stop but it prevents it. The "plastic" nature of the compacted material means that the longer the compression force is maintained, the more effective and permanent the compaction is, thus reducing the tendency of the bottles to return to their original shape. Thus in practice the user leaves the handle in the down position until it has a new empty bottle to compact. Depending on the nature of the compacted bottles holds can be placed on the fixed lower plate. The four drawings illustrate the invention: The drawing 1/4 represents the device as the user left it during its last use. In this configuration the bottle is kept under maximum load. Drawing 2/4 represents the device when the user successively: reassembled the handle (resting against the wall), removed the last compacted bottle, arranged a new empty bottle, and lowered the guide rod. Drawing 3/4 represents the device in the position where compacting begins. In the 4/4 drawing the compaction is in more advanced state. The end of the cycle ends in the same (self-maintained) position as that shown in drawing 1/4. With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a double upright (6) intended to be fixed on a vertical support (such as for example a wall) by means of 4 brackets. This amount supports at its base the fixed plate (11), and at its top a guide tube (2) for the rod (1). In the present illustration, this rod has two functions: It serves to maintain the empty bottle to prevent it from shunning under the force during compression and also serves as a guide to the movable plate (10). The upper part of the upright also comprises an axis (3) around which turns the double-crank crank (5), and the stop (4) which keeps the crank at the position or the compression is maximum. Two connecting rods (8) are connected by a hinge (7) to the two crank posts at about 1/3 distance between the axis of rotation of the crank and its handle (12) increasing the gear ratio. At the other end the two links 50 are connected to the movable plate by another articulation (9). The two-stage movable platen consists of a disk provided with a large orifice (allowing all the necks to pass through) and connected to a guide tube by three quarter-circle arches. The disc constitutes the first stage (intended to specifically compact the body of the bottle), and the second stage (compaction of the neck) consists of the face of the guide tube which is tangential to the three arches.

The present illustration is made of mechanically welded steel but other industrial manufacturing processes as well as other materials can be substituted for it (other alloys of metals or synthetic materials such as engineering plastics, processes making it possible to obtain such as molding or forging ...) The device according to the invention is intended for a wide audience ranging from households to businesses, restaurants or communities concerned about the respect of the environment (device not requiring any other source of energy 60 a moderate physical effort of the user), and respectful of the existing value chains (cork recycling process different from bottles recycling systems).
