Abstract
The device (10) has a main charger (3) arranged to charge all cells (2) globally by providing main charging current common to the cells. A complementary charger (8) is arranged to charge one of the cells by providing complementary current to the cell in an event of charge delay of the cell with respect to other cells. A controller (7) controls the main charger according to total charges of the cells, and controls the complementary charger according to charge measurement result of the corresponding cell and/or comparison of the charges of the cells. An independent claim is also included for a method for managing a battery.
