Abstract

The supply (20) has a starter (62) for starting a thermal engine, and a voltage maintaining device (24) comprising a super-capacitor module (40) storing electric energy for maintaining the voltage of the power supply when the starter starts the thermal engine. The super-capacitor module is electrically connected to a resistor by a charging switch while discharging the super-capacitor module. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a start and stop vehicle comprising a thermal engine (2) a method for managing a calendar life span of a super-capacitor module.
