Abstract
Preparation of an oil-in-water emulsion by directly/by phase inversion, comprises: (a) preparing a phase A comprising elements having xanthan, at least one non-ionic, anionic, cationic or amphoteric type surface agent and their mixture and at least one lipophilic fluid; (b) stirring the phase A to make it homogeneous, at a stirring speed of 5-250 (preferably less than 50) rpm; (c) preparing an aqueous phase B, at 20-50[deg] C; (d) adding the phase A to the phase B by stirring at 20-50[deg] C for 5-30 (preferably 10) minutes; and (e) maintaining stirring to obtain stable oil-in-water emulsion. Independent claims are included for: (1) a composition comprising (i) xanthan, (ii) at least one ionic, anionic, cationic or amphoteric type surface agent, and (iii) at least one lipophilic liquid; (2) a preparation of the oil-in-water emulsion by direct way, comprising adding the composition in an aqueous phase by stirring at a temperature of 20-50[deg] C and maintaining the stirring to obtain stable oil-in-water emulsion; and (3) a preparation of the oil-in-water emulsion by reverse phase, comprising adding aqueous phase into the composition by stirring at a temperature of 20-50[deg] C and maintaining the stirring to obtain stable oil-in-water emulsion. - ACTIVITY : Dermatological; Fungicide. - MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
