Abstract

The device has an inlet for polluted air through flame arresters (2). The air is compressed in a compression chamber and mixed with a fuel to be naturally directed towards a treated gas exhaust system for thermal oxidation across flame arresters (10), such that temperature of fuel air combustion is increased. Flame arresters (12) are disposed in series on the exhaust system. An independent claim is also included for a utilization of an air treating device for treating volatile organic compound.

Description

Cette invention se caractérise par un procédé utilisant l'oxydationThis invention is characterized by a process using oxidation

thermique comme élément d'élimination, soit des nuisances olfactives, soit des composés organiques volatils.  as an element of elimination, either olfactory nuisances or volatile organic compounds.

This invention relating to a flare for eliminating atmospheric olfactory nuisances provides important improvements over existing models. It is able to sanitize a sizeable mass of product to be processed in a very small volume, therefore a lower cost price than those offered on the current market. Experiments have been carried out to prove the validity of this innovation. It has been found that a combustion chamber with a diameter of 100mm over a length of 500mm can treat a volume of 100m3 / hour. These dimensions are only indicative and non-limiting.

The thermal oxidation was ensured by the intake of ignited propane as soon as it was introduced into the combustion chamber. It was found that the temperature of the gases inside of it was close to 800 C and that despite the smallness of the combustion chamber no flame was coming out of the exhaust pipe of the burnt gases.

According to particular embodiments, this apparatus is constituted by two flame arresters, one being disposed at the inlet of the gases to be treated, having the role of safety in the case where the product to be treated is carrying a product. flammable such as methane or other component, the second being disposed at the outlet of the exhaust gas discharge pipe. By its position, it slows the evacuation of these gases and allows an increase in the combustion temperature. At the outlet of the flue gases, it is possible to add in series, one or more flame arrestors thus making it possible to obtain a greater purity of the product to be treated.

This apparatus is constituted by a metal masterpiece, under the name: compression chamber (1) having several functions: in the lower part (A) it channels the gas to be treated by means of a flame arrester (2) then this gas is slightly compressed in a conical corridor (3). In the center of this compression chamber is disposed an inlet or more thereof for liquid or gaseous fuels (4) which at the central level of this metal part mixes these two components. By their pressure, they move towards the only possible outlet, that is to say the combustion chamber (5). The second fuel intake (6) is available to increase the combustion temperature and to be able to process volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

In the upper part of the compression chamber is the firing element Fuel / Fuel (7), function performed by a car-type candle, or a spark gap, one or the other being operated by a high voltage electrical current (minimum 5,000 volts). Included in the compression chamber is a temperature sensor (8) having the role of detecting and controlling the operation of the flare.

Above this exhaust gas evacuation structure (9) and the flame arrester (10) is disposed laterally a tubular duct (11) having the function of channeling the sanitized gas to measure the quality.

It is possible, in order to obtain a better purity of the gas to be sanitized, to have several flame arresters (12) in series on the evacuation circuit of the treated gases.
