Abstract

The harness has a descending ring to connect two leg loops (2, 3) and a belt in a ventral zone. The ring is constituted by a strap that is closed at one end (6b) after being turned on the belt and loops, to form a loop. The strap has another end (6a) extending freely along a predetermined length for forming a return lanyard (6) to be integrated with the ring, where the lanyard is coiled around the ring.

Description

CLIMBING HARNESS

  The present invention relates to a harness, including climbing, comprising two leg loops and a belt, interconnected in a ventral area, and a return ring for cooperating with a retaining lanyard. Such a harness is intended more generally for the safety of people, or other types of sports such as speleology, paragliding, parachuting, in fact any activity that requires hanging in the air, for example, using a ridge.

  In this type of harness, the leg loops are connected to each other and to the belt by means of a return ring installed, for example, permanently or not on these elements.

  The hooking of the lanyard is carried out by means of a carabiner, or even a loop strap fixed with a lark-head type knot, disposed at the end of the latter, adapted to cooperate with the leash. the return ring, the other end of the lanyard also comprising another carabiner for attachment, on any support from which the climbing must take place.

  The lanyard is therefore a separate element of the harness that must be reported on it at the end of use, or must be stored independently of it in case of non-use.

  This contributes to unsightly harness and tedious storage of the lanyard when the user moves on the ground while he has not removed his harness.

  In this situation, we do not imagine the user to let his lanyard hooked to his harness because, in this case, he should roll it, for example, around his hand so that it does not drag on the ground, or l tie on the side.

  The present invention aims to remedy these various disadvantages, and relates for this purpose a harness, including climbing, of the type comprising two leg loops and a belt, interconnected in a ventral area, and a ring of return intended to cooperate with a lanyard, characterized in that the return ring is constituted by a strap 10 closed in a loop on itself at one of its ends, after having performed at least one turn on all or part of the belt and the thigh to connect them, and the other end extends freely, according to a predetermined length to form an integrated return lanyard, which can be wound around the ring ring it at its own end, in a rest position, be unfolded by unwinding in an active position.

  The present invention also relates to the features which will become apparent in the course of the following description, which should be considered in isolation or in all their possible technical combinations.

  Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description which follows with reference to the accompanying drawings which are given by way of non-limiting examples.

  Figure 1 shows in perspective, schematically, a harness according to the invention in an extended position of the lanyard.

  Figure 2 shows in perspective, schematically, a harness according to the invention in a folded position of the lanyard.

  Figures 3 and 4 respectively show a lanyard rolled on itself or unfolded after unwinding.

  In general, the harness (1) generally designated in FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of two leg loops (2, 3) and a belt (4) connected together in a ventral zone by a ring of recall (5) for cooperating with a lanyard (6).

  According to the invention, the return ring (5) is constituted by a strap closed in a loop on itself at one of its ends (6b), after having performed at least one turn on all or part of the belt (4) and thigh turn (2, 3) to connect them together, and whose other end (6a) extends freely, according to a predetermined length to form an integral return lanyard (6).

  According to an essential advantage of the invention, the return lanyard (6) thus integrated with the ring (5) to be aligned with it, can be either wound around that which it forms at its own end, in a position rest, or be unfolded by unwinding in an active position.

  Preferably, according to the present embodiment, the connection of the looping return ring (5) with the belt (4) and the two leg loops (2, 3) is effected by means of less a bridge (7) secured to the belt (4) and through a connecting strap (9) of said leg loops (2, 3), to be blocked laterally by the lower bridge (8), the respective dimensioning of the two bridges (7, 8) being such that it allows the winding as many turns as necessary of the entire length of the return lanyard (6).

  As seen in the figures, the bridge (7) of the belt (4) and that 5 (8) of the connecting strap (9) of the leg loops (2, 3) are attached to it by sewing (10, 11-12.13).

  Seams are preferred by any other means, because of their great resistance to the offense.

  Preferably, the return ring (5) and the lanyard (6) integrated therein, as well as the bridges (7, 8), are made of a flat braided textile, or made with a tubular textile strap.

  Of course, they could be made of any other material, such as rope, without departing from the scope of the present invention.

  According to a version, not shown, the return ring (5) and the integrated lanyard (6) are made from a flat strap first closed in a loop at one end (6b) to form the ring ( 5) after having performed at least one turn on all or part of the belt (4) and leg loops (2, 3), said strap being then sewn, the seam passing through at least two thicknesses, and its free end (6a ) extending from said seam to form the loin (6).

  According to a preferred embodiment shown in the figures, the return ring (5) and the integrated lanyard (6) are made from a flat strap first folded on itself to form at least two thicknesses ( e, e '), one of its ends (6b) being closed in a loop to form the ring (5) after having performed at least one turn on all or part of the bridge (7) of the belt (4) and the connecting strap (9) of the leg loops (2, 3), said double thickness webbing (e, e ') being then sewn by at least one seam (14, 15) enclosing at least three thicknesses, its free end (6a) extending from said seam (14, 15) to form the loin (6).

  Preferably, the seams are two in number, and preferentially enclose two or three thicknesses of strap.

  According to another characteristic of the invention, near the free end (6a) of the lanyard (6) is made a seam (16) in the double thickness (e, e ') of the strap (6), in order to make a hooking loop (17) for attaching a carabiner (18).

  Advantageously, the lanyard (6) has a loop (19) of its own, so as to retain its free end (6a) when it is wound on itself, and around the return ring (5) when it is in the inactive position.

  Finally, the strap forming the return ring (5) and the integrated lanyard (6) advantageously comprise a shock absorber (not shown). It has been understood that, thanks to its passage over the strap (7) belt and the connecting strap), the lanyard in use position is located in the extension of the ring (5).

  Of course, it would not be departing from the scope of the invention if the looped return ring (5) was connected directly to the belt (4) and directly to the connecting strap (9) of the thighs. Indeed, the bridge (7) of the belt would, in fact, directly obtained by the belt strap which then comprise, at the rear, another sewn strap blocking in lateral displacement of the loop (5).

  There is thus obtained a harness assembly incorporating a lanyard, which is aesthetic, compact and practical, the lanyard being able to wrap around the return ring that it constitutes at one of its ends.

Claims (9)

  1. Harness (1), including climbing, of the type comprising two leg loops (2, 3) and a belt (4) interconnected in a ventral zone, 5 and a return ring (5) for to cooperate with a lanyard (6), characterized in that the return ring (5) is constituted by a strap closed in a loop on itself at one of its ends (6b), after having performed at least one turn on all or part of the belt (4) and thigh circumference (2, 3) to connect them together, and whose other end (6a) extends freely, according to a predetermined length to form a lanyard of integrated return (6), which can be wound around the return ring (5) that it forms at its own end (6b), in a rest position, or be unfolded by unwinding in an active position.   2. Harness according to claim 1, characterized in that the connection of the looping return ring (5) with the belt (4) and the two leg loops (2, 3) is effected via a bridge (7) secured to the belt (4) and the connecting strap (9) of said thigh turns (2, 3), said connecting strap comprising a locking bridge (8), the respective dimensioning 20 of the two bridges being such that it allows the winding as many turns as necessary of the entire length of the return lanyard (6).   3. Harness according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the bridge (7) of the belt (4) and that (8) of the connecting strap (9) of the thighs (2, 3 ) are reported on it by sewing (10, 11-12, 13).   4. Harness according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the return ring (5) and the lanyard (6) integrated therein, and the bridges (7, 8) are made in a braided textile flat.   5. Harness according to one of claims I to 4, characterized in that the return ring (5) and the integrated lanyard (6) are made from a flat strap initially closed loop at one end. (6b) to form the ring (5) after having performed at least one turn on all or part of the belt (4) and thigh turns (2, 3), said strap being then sewn, the seam passing through minus two thicknesses, and its free end (6a) extending from said seam to form the loin (6).   6. Harness according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the return ring (5) and the integrated lanyard (6) are made from a flat strap first folded on itself to constitute two thicknesses (e, e '), one of its ends (6b) being closed in a loop to form the ring (5) after having made at least one turn on all or part of the belt (4) and thigh turns (2, 3), said double thickness webbing (e, e ') being then sewn by at least one seam (14, 15) enclosing at least three thicknesses, its free end (6a) extending from said seam (14,15) to form the loin (6).   7. Harness according to claim 6, characterized in that, near the free end (6a) of the lanyard (6), a seam (16) is produced in the double thickness (e, e ') of the strap (6), so as to form a hooking loop (17) for fixing a carabiner (18).   8. Harness according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the ring (5) has a loop (19) of its own, so as to retain its free end (6a) when wound on itself, and around the return ring (5) when it is in the inactive position.   9. Harness according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the strap forming the return ring (5) and the integrated lanyard (6) comprise a shock absorber (20).
