Abstract

The sphincter has a band (2) including an inflatable cuff (3) engaged beneath urethra of a patient, and lateral parts (2a) linked to lateral anatomical structures. A cuff inflating device (4) has an opening to pass fluid from a reservoir for inflating the cuff for exerting a pressure on the urethra to produce an occlusion. A part (4a) deactivates a valve to allow the fluid return to the reservoir for deflating the cuff. The cuff releases the urethra for passage of urine, when it is deflated.
