Abstract

The feeder for ruminants and herbivores contains dry or wet feed and has a holder (1) which is open at the top to receive the feed and a sliding grill (2) which can move on an upright (3). The upright has a guide (4) on it for the grill, the guide being a tube of open square section. The grill can also be mounted on guide rollers.

Description

The present invention relates to a product and a device for supplying

  in stalls or various shelters, horses in dry or wet fodder, without the animal wasting its fodder and being bothered by dust.

  The horses are usually fed in racks placed high and fixed on the walls of the boxce which has the disadvantage of breaking the horse's back and dust entering the horse's nostrils and therefore a handicap for health.

  Feeding is also done by depositing the fodder on the ground in the box, which leads to wastage and significant loss.

  The device according to the invention makes it possible to remedy these drawbacks, it in fact comprises, according to a first characteristic, a container in a quarter circle with a bottom located 5 centimeters from the ground, the assembly fixed in the corner of a box on hinge to rotate the container for cleaning.

  There is sufficient fodder in the container, once filled, a scarred movable part which slides in an open tube, comes from its own weight bearing on the fodder inside the container and descends each time the animal withdraws the fodder from the container through this scarred part.

  When the scarred moving part has touched the bottom of the container, there is no more fodder; it suffices to raise the mobile part high enough, to let it block in height above the container and to replenish the fodder.

  According to particular embodiments: - the container can be of different shapes, a quarter of a circle, semi-circle, square or rectangular, of different height and size, depending on its greater or lesser capacity.

  - The scrapped mobile part would thus have the same shape as the container.

  - the mobile part can slide in an open tube or rail using rollers.

  - the mobile part can be activated to get it out of the container by a steel or nylon cable sliding on a small grooved pulley, a pawl will prevent the mobile part from going up.

  - This mobile, scarred part can receive a plate on its upper part, in order to close the upper part of the container.

  The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: Figure 1 shows the device of the invention.

  Figure 2 shows a variant of this device.

  With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a container (1) open on the top.

  The container is fixed to the walls of the building by movable parts (5).

  A vertical mast (3) fixed to the rear of the container (I), on which is fixed a check valve (6).

  In the vertical mast (3) of square section, serving as a guide (4) slides the scaffolded mobile part (2) from bottom to top (5) and from top to bottom.

  On the scarred mobile part (2) is arranged a handle (7), in order to be able to raise the mobile part upwards and which will be retained by the valve (6).

  In the embodiment shown in figure (2), the container (1) is rectangular, the scarred movable part (2) of the same shape as the container, moves in translation in a guide (4) on the mat (3 ) using rolling.

  The movable part (2) is raised using a steel rope (8) guided by a grooved pulley (9) located at the top of the mast (3).

Claim   l) Device for feeding all ruminants and herbivores with dry or wet fodder, comprising a container (1) open on its upper part in which is placed the fodder on which abuts a scarred mobile part (2) thus preventing wastage of the feed.   2) Device according to claim (1) in that it comprises, a vertical mast (3) for moving the scarred movable part (2) in vertical translation thanks to the guide (4) on the mat (3).   3) Device according to claim (2) in that the mat (3) serving as a guide (4) is in the form of a tube of square section open on one side and over the entire length.   4) Device according to claim (3) in that the scaffolded mobile part (2) has a support with bearings which allows it to slide in said mat (3).   5) Device according to claim (4), in that the movable part (2) is raised using a steel rope (8) guided by a pulley (9) located at the top of the mast (3).
