Abstract

The device has a handle (1) with an end (2) connected to a culinary item (10) and with a face shield (3) receiving a retractable extension with one of its ends articulated around an axis. A stopper (8) maintains the extension in a deployed position to position a forearm rest at the other end at an angle. The handle presents lateral depression which engages the forearm rest and the extension in folded position.

Description

The present invention relates to a handle-extension device for

lift, carry and

  easily handle cookware such as pots, pans, frying pans ... which are often too heavy to handle when filled.

  Traditionally, cookware, especially large items, are already heavy 5 even when empty and handling is all the more difficult when they are filled. The too short handle does not offer sufficient grip to increase the effort exerted by the user and all the effort rests solely on the wrist. This is particularly disabling for people, among others, suffering from joint or muscular problems or simply for the person who has to serve food to a large family every day. The device 10 according to the invention overcomes this drawback by providing support under the forearm for the greatest comfort of the user and inexpensive.

  The device according to a first characteristic consists of the association of two elements, a handle and an extension.

  The handle according to the invention is made so as to be able to deploy the extension. This device 15 makes it possible to transmit the force exerted from the wrist to the forearm and no longer exclusively on the user's wrist. The result thus obtained can be compared to the "fishing rod" effect. The handle according to the invention comprises a body linked by one end to the culinary article and the other end of which can receive an axis ensuring the rotation of the extension. The extension according to a second characteristic of the invention is integrated into the handle, it contributes to better grip in the folded position. The extension is secured to the handle by an axis of rotation allowing its deployment. The convenience of implementing this extension allows the user to use it at any time either in the folded position (saving space, prevents accidents due to overtaking, better grip ...) or in position deployed (transport, handling ...).

  The second end of the extension, according to a third characteristic of the invention, is of curved shape thus making it possible to adapt to the user's forearm.

  With reference to these drawings, a handle-extension device for easily handling culinary articles consisting of a handle (1), detachably or fixedly connected, at its end (2), to a culinary article (10), and d 'an extension (6) characterized in that the retractable extension (6) is articulated at one of its ends around an axis (5) and has at the other end a forearm rest part (7).

  In the deployed position (see Figure 3) the handle (1) has on the lower part of the end opposite the end (2), a stop (8) which holds the extension (6) in place. The front arm rest (7) is curved so as to adjust to the user's forearm and is then blocked at an angle (a) varying between 10 and 30 and preferably 20. The length (L) of the device is between 20 and 45 cm, and preferably 40 cm. The height (h) between the main axis (x) of the culinary element and the junction point of the forearm and the forearm rest (7) is between 5 and 15 cm.

  In the folded position (see Figure 1) the handle (1) has near the end (2) a flame arrester (3) and two projections (9) preventing contact of the extension (6) and the handle (1) .

The end (2) of the handle (1) has two lateral depressions (3 ') which follow the forearm rest part (7) of the extension (6). The forearm rest (7) is then protected from heat thanks to the flame arrester (3) and to the space between the flame arrester (3) and the forearm rest (7) avoiding any heat conduction.
