Abstract

The invention concerns an infinitely variable transmission with power by-pass comprising at least a planetary gear set (8), a reduction stage (4; 10, 11) and two electric machines (3; 3a, b), the various elements constituting said transmission being distributed on two parallel power paths connecting the heat engine (1) of a vehicle to the two wheels (2) thereof. The invention is characterised in that the first path comprises two electric machines mounted in series, and the second path assembles the other transmission elements, and said transmission comprises at least a second reduction stage (5, 13, 14), separate from the first.
