Abstract

The present invention relates to a protection device for a part of a lock barrel protruding from the external side of an entrance door, characterized by a bracket (11) to be fixed to the door and a protection element (12), also made of steel, carried by said bracket, movable telescopically in and with respect to the latter and enclosing the part which protrudes from the lock barrel. The protection element (12) carries a rotary keeper provided with a slot allowing the passage of a key for actuating the barrel; the wall lamp is covered with a cover plate.

SELF-ADAPTIVE PROTECTION DEVICE FOR

LOCK ON ENTRY DOORS

  The present invention relates to closings for frames, in particular for entry doors, and in particular relates to a protection device for

  the lock barrel for these doors.

  The lock barrels mounted on entry doors, if they are turned towards the outside of the door, can be forced and allow the opening of the door. Currently, to prevent or at least limit access and break-in of a lock barrel, it is known for example to use a reinforced strike which covers the

  part of the lock barrel protruding from the door.

  However, the lock barrels, when in use, can protrude from the doors in various measures, which poses a problem in terms of their effective protection from the outside. Now, the problem of the different overshoot of the barrels is solved by inserting spacers in the form of seals until the strike rests on the front plane of the barrel. In other words, adaptation must go through attempts and requires the availability of additional elements. The object of the present invention is to solve the problem set out above effectively and efficiently, without additional elements and in a manner which makes it possible to simplify the mounting of the protection device independently of the degree of overshoot of the

door lock barrel.

  Another object of the invention is to provide a protection device which comprises a movable element which moves by adapting automatically to the passing of the barrel without requiring interventions from the outside and without resorting to spacers or the like. Another object of the invention is to provide a protection device which is integrated in a handle plate, without however excluding its use on

  washers for handles, if necessary.

  Said objects and obvious advantages which derive therefrom are achieved by a protection device for lock barrels protruding from the external side of an entry door, characterized by a wall lamp to be fixed to the door and by a protection element, also made of steel. , carried by the wall lamp, telescopically movable in and with respect to it and enclosing the part which protrudes from the lock barrel, the protective element carrying a rotary keeper with a slot for the passage of a key d actuation of the barrel, the wall being

  covered with a cover plate.

  The accompanying drawings illustrate a practical embodiment of the device in question which will be described in more detail below. In said drawings: FIG. 1 represents a wall lamp and the self-adapting element separated from each other; Figures 2 and 3 show the wall lamp with the self-adapting element respectively seen from the inside and from the outside; and Figure 4 shows a partial section of the wall lamp installed in service to protect a barrel

  lock and contained in a cover plate.

  The device essentially comprises a wall lamp 11 associated with a protective element 12, both made of steel. The wall lamp 11 must be fixed on the external face of a door 13 fitted with a lock which can be actuated using a barrel 14 with a key, the barrel

  may protrude from said door in various measures.

  The wall lamp 11 has, at the level of the lock barrel 14, a cavity 15 and the protective element 12 is placed and movable telescopically in said cavity. For example, but not necessarily, the cavity 15 and the protective element 12 have a

  asymmetrical diamond-shaped outline or profile.

  More specifically, the cavity 15 has a bottom opening 16 and two abutment planes 17 starting from opposite sides of said opening 16 and facing the

  face of the door on which the device is applied.

  The protective element 12 has an intermediate portion in the form of a cup 18 passing through the bottom opening 16 formed in the cavity 15 of the bracket 11 and two shoulders 19 starting from opposite sides of said intermediate portion and extending

  parallel to the stop planes 17.

  The intermediate part 18 of the element 12 has a housing 20 open towards the door and configured to receive the part of the lock barrel 14 which protrudes from the door. At the bottom of the housing 20 is an orifice 21 in which is mounted a rotary keeper 22, retained by a spacer 22 'and having a passage slot 23

  the key to control the lock barrel.

  The protective element 12 is retained in the corresponding cavity 15 of the applique 11 for example by means of two screws 24 which are screwed onto the applique and whose heads press against the ends of the shoulders 19 of the protective element . As mentioned above, the protective element 12 is telescopically movable in the cavity 15 of the bracket 11. These movements are understood and limited between the head of the stop screws 24 and the abutment planes 17. In all cases , between these abutment planes 17 and the shoulders 19 of the protective element 12 are arranged two springs 25, preferably conical, one per part, intended to normally push said element against the head of the stop screws 24 and so corresponding against the outer head of the lock barrel 14. Thus, when the bracket 11, with the protective element, is fixed to the door, the part which protrudes from the barrel 14 is inserted into the housing 20 of the element protection. So this

  element 12 which leans against the head of the barrel -

  Figure 4 - moves back by compressing the springs 25, automatically adapting its position to the projection of the barrel. It should be noted that stopping the protective element under the effect of the heads of the screws 24 also makes it possible, if necessary, to limit the rocking

  said element so that it is correctly installed.

  The wall lamp 11 is fixed to the door by means of fixing means which pass through the thickness of the latter and engage with an internal counter-wall, with the possible use of studs. Finally, the wall lamp is masked by means of a finishing plate 26 usually made of copper, opposite the plate located at

inside the door.

  Of course, the present invention is not limited to the examples of embodiment described and shown above, from which other modes and other embodiments can be provided without departing from the scope of the invention as '' it is defined by

appended claims.

Claims (4)

  1. Protection device for a part of a lock barrel protruding from the external side of an entry door, characterized by a wall lamp (11) to be fixed to the door and by a protection element (12), also in steel, carried by said wall lamp, movable telescopically in and with respect to it and enclosing the part which protrudes from the lock barrel, said protective element (12) carrying a rotary keeper with a slot for the passage of a gun activation key, said wall lamp being covered with a cover plate. 2. Protection device according to claim 1, characterized in that said wall lamp has a cavity (15) open towards the door and having a bottom opening (16) and at least two planes (17) starting from opposite parts of said opening , characterized in that said protective element (12) is placed and movable in said cavity (15) and has a housing capable of receiving the projecting part of the lock barrel (14) and at least two shoulders (19) starting from parts opposite to said housing and extending parallel to said planes, and characterized in that said protective element is movably retained in said cavity and is stressed by springs (25) which keep it normally displaced towards the outside of the cavity, the protective element retreating by opposing the action of the springs as a function of the projection of the barrel Door.   3. Protective device according to claim 2, characterized in that said protective element is movably retained in said cavity by screws screwed to the wall and whose heads press against the ends of said shoulders (19) and characterized in that said springs (25) are placed between said planes (17) and said shoulders (19), the springs   preferably being conical springs.   4. Protection device according to the claims   above, characterized in that said cavity and said protective element have a contour or profile in irregular diamond shape.
