Abstract

The pipe cutter consists of a handle (2) with a recess (3) in its head to receive a blade (4), and a fixing plate (6) with a screw (7) to hold the blade in place. The head and fixing plate have curved ribs (10, 12) which engage with grooves in the pipe while the blade cuts through the crest of the corrugation between the grooves. The ribs project from shoulders (16, 17) on the head and fixing plate which act as wear indicators for the ribs.
