PRESSURE COOKING APPARATUS WITH REMOVABLE HANDLES

  The present invention relates to the general technical field of pressure cooking appliances for domestic use, such appliances

  being intended for cooking food under pressure.

  The present invention relates to a pressure cooking appliance comprising a tank and a cover intended to be locked on the tank by means of locking / unlocking means independent of

  grip the device, like handles.

  It is already known to produce pressure cooking appliances for household use such as pressure cookers, comprising a tank and a cover intended to be locked, in a leaktight manner, by means of a

elastic seal on said tank.

  As regards devices intended to operate under pressure, safety, and in particular the locking of the cover on the tank, is the subject of particular attention, which has given rise to the existence of different types of pressure cookers differing mainly in their locking / unlocking system. Thus, for example, bayonet pressure cookers are known, the vessel and the lid each comprising a set of vessel ramps and lid intended to come to be superimposed in the closed position, to then be locked in position by a locking system. According to a common type of pressure cooker with bayonets, the locking is ensured by means of the handles of the bowl and of the lid, which come in superposition in the locking position to come to trigger

  respective lock systems between the bowl handle and the lid handle. In general, this type of device is satisfactory, but suffers from a drawback associated with the handling of the device, its size and the space required for storing the device. Indeed, the handles of this type of pressure cooker being essential elements for ensuring the locking of the pressure cooker, the bowl and lid handles are permanently fixed to the bowl and the lid without the possibility of disassembly and storage. Furthermore, because of the locking function assumed by the handles, it is necessary to provide handles of a relatively large size, which makes the storage of these devices

  difficult while also making them difficult to handle.

  Pressure cooking appliances are also known, known as "pressure cookers with a manhole" which use a bowl of substantially oval shape inside of which a lid of conjugate shape is inserted in leaktight manner. In this type of pressure cooker, the locking of the lid on the bowl is also ensured by the cooperation and the respective locking of the bowl handle on the lid handle. Although generally smaller in size, such pressure cookers also suffer from a drawback related to their handling and

to their difficulty of storage.

  Furthermore, the handling of such devices often occurring when the device is in pressure operation, it has never been envisaged to

  remove all or part of the handles.

  We also know, in the general field of cooking utensils, frying pans or pots likely to be equipped with handles

  removable by means of quick coupling / uncoupling devices.

  The objects assigned to the invention therefore aim to remedy the various drawbacks listed above and to propose a new pressure cooking appliance with means for locking / unlocking the cover on the tank which are independent of the means for gripping the appliance, this new pressure cooking appliance being able to offer a reduced overall dimensions while being of a

  easy handling and particularly safe operation.

  Another object of the invention is to propose a new pressure cooking appliance which, while making it easier to store, is of a

  particularly safe operating safety.

  Another object of the invention is to propose a new cooking appliance

  under pressure, the implementation of which is particularly simplified.

  Another object of the invention is to propose a new pressure cooking appliance whose design and manufacture is particularly simple.

  Figures 1 to 6 illustrate a pressure cooking appliance according to the invention and comprising a tank 1, of generally cylindrical shape, produced for example by stamping from a metallic material, of the aluminum or stainless steel type. The tank 1 is provided with a bottom 2, added for example by hot stamping under the tank 1. The tank 1 is delimited by external walls 3 rising substantially vertically at

  starting from the bottom and ending at their upper level with a tank edge 6

  folded towards the outside of the appliance.

  In the following description, the pressure cooking appliance described

  preferably will be a pressure cooker with bayonet closure, it being understood that the invention can be applied to any type of pressure cooking appliance for domestic use, provided that the means for locking / unlocking the lid on the tank are independent of means of

gripping the device.

  In the case of a bayonet pressure cooker, the folded edge 6 of the tank 1 is provided at regular intervals or not with a series of tank ramps 5 projecting radially. In the example illustrated in FIG. 2, the tank 1 is provided with four tank ramps 5 diametrically opposite and spaced apart by a

angular value of 90.

  The pressure cooking appliance according to the invention also comprises a cover 7 intended to be attached in leaktight manner by means of a seal 8 on the tank 1. The cover 7 is also provided with ramps cover provided at their ends with a folded inward edge 9A intended to cooperate by virtue of their shape with the tank ramps 5 to ensure the locking / unlocking of the cover 7 on the tank 1 and between ramps 9. In such a case, the tank ramps 5 and cover ramps 9A are associated with a means of locking in rotation of the position of the cover 7 relative to the tank 1 o another means of locking in rotation such as that described for example in French patent applications n FR-98 12258 and FR-98 12259 by the same applicant and not yet published to date.   The pressure cooking appliance according to the invention is also provided with gripping means 10, 11 such as handles, forming by

  example respectively a short handle and a long handle.

  According to a first characteristic of the invention, the gripping means, 11 are capable of being removably mounted on the tank 1 by means of quick coupling means which are respectively integral with the tank 1 to form a first means of coupling and gripping means 10, 11, to form a second coupling means integral with the gripping means. According to this first characteristic, it is necessary that the locking / unlocking means ensuring the locking in rotation of the cover 7 on the tank 1, are independent of

  gripping means 10, 11 of the device.

  According to the invention, the gripping means 10, 11 therefore form one or more removable handle (s) capable of being assembled and disassembled quickly from the tank by the user while being blocked

  firmly in position on the tank when they are coupled.

  Advantageously, such removable handles will be produced according to the principle described in patent EP-0769263 or in patent application EP-0906742 from the same applicant. The handles 10, 11 thus comprise two members 21, 22 forming a clamp, the member 21 being movable in longitudinal translation relative to the grip body 23 of the handle, the other member 22 being fixed relative to this grip body 23 The members 21, 22 thus form the rapid coupling means integral with the gripping means 10, 11, referenced below as the second

coupling means.

  According to the invention, the removable gripping means 10, 11 are intended to be fixed permanently to the tank 1 by means of the first means

  coupling or attached to said tank 1, so that the gripping means 10, 11 intended to be mounted therein are irremovable from said first means when the cover 7 is locked or in the position of

locking on the tank 1.

  Such an assembly makes the pressure cooker in accordance with the invention particularly safe in its operation and its manipulation, since it ensures that, in the locking position of the cover on the tank, the gripping means 10, 11

  cannot be removed, even inadvertently.

  As is particularly visible in Figures 3 to 6, the first coupling means can be formed by a bridge 30 which can be welded when the tank is made of stainless steel or riveted when the tank 1 is made of aluminum for example, on the walls 3. Only preferably, the trigger guard 30, made of metallic material, can be formed by a mounting collar 31, for example semi-circular serving to define a housing 32 open towards the top of the device, said housing 32 being delimited by a semi-circular side face 33 extending the mounting collar 31, by a front face 34 extending the side face 33 while being curved

  externally upwards, and by the external face of the walls 3 of the tank 1.

  Obviously, the respective shapes of the facial components of the trigger guard 30 and of the members 21, 22 composing the coupling means of the gripping means 10, 11 will be paired and conjugated so as to promote optimal pinching. According to this arrangement, the movable member 21 can be inserted vertically in the housing 32 allowing, in a stable rest position, the gripping of the front face 34 between the movable member 21 and the fixed member 22, this allowing vertical blocking and lateral according to a

  fixed position of the gripping means 10, 11.

  The location of the trigger guard 30, forming the first coupling means,

  will be chosen to make the gripping means 10, 11 irremovable, that is to say

  say to make impossible the extraction of the gripping means 10, 11

  outside the housing 32 when the cover 7 is locked on the tank 1.

  Advantageously, such a function will be assumed by the cover 7 itself when it is in its locking position corresponding to the engagement of the tank ramps 5 with the cover ramps 9A. Such an arrangement is obviously particularly simple to carry out

  since it does not require any modification of the design of the device.

  Thus, according to such an arrangement, the cover 7 comprises or forms a locking means coming directly from the gripping means 10, 11 when they are mounted on the tank 1 and when the cover 7 is locked on said tank 1 for prevent the respective decoupling of the first and second

coupling means.

  In the preferred case of using a trigger guard 30, as illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 6, the first coupling means 30 will be fixed to the wall 3 of the tank i at a distance d (FIG. 4) from the edge upper 6 of the tank 1, the distance d then defining a clearance clearance of the gripping means, 11 outside the trigger guard 30. In fact, such a clearance corresponding substantially to the height of the movable member 21 allows first of all the positioning of said member directly above the housing 32, then its engagement in said housing 32. It is then understood that the respective positioning of the trigger guard and the cover 7 must be, such that in the closed or locked position, the cover 7 reduces the distance d, which prevents the removability

  of the handle in place in the housing 32.

  Thus, in the case of a cooking appliance formed by a pressure cooker comprising a bayonet closing system with tank ramps 5 and cover ramps 9A, the blocking means is formed by

  a between cover ramp 9 reducing the distance d (Figure 5) and the clearance clearance of the gripping means 11 outside the trigger guard 30. In such a configuration, the trigger guard 30 and the handle 10, 11 are not mounted at right of a tank ramp 5, that is to say that they are mounted in an angular sector out of the plumb of a tank ramp 5. In fact, in the example illustrated in FIG. 5, the cover 7 is in the unlocked position, the between ramps 9 not being located directly above the gripping means 11 and the trigger guard 30. In this position, the gripping means 11 can be inserted or removed freely from the housing 32 , the sector corresponding to the cover ramp 9A, extending between the cover ramps 9 being of a reduced height compared to the height of the cover ramps 9. On the other hand, during closing and locking 7, I'entre ramp cover 9 comes to the right and opposite the trigger guard 30, which reduces it the distance d and prevents the

  release and extraction of the gripping means 11 from the trigger guard 30.

  As a variant, as illustrated for example in FIG. 6, it is possible to produce the locking means in the form of an insert and fixed to the cover 7 or even extending said cover 7, for example at level of the ramp 9A, so as to limit the distance d perpendicular to the trigger guard 30 and the gripping means 10, 11. In the example illustrated in FIG. 6, the locking means is formed by a part 40 extending, substantially vertically, the edge of the cover 7. According to other variants (not shown), the locking means 40 can be formed by a welded plate, or by a rod, or even by any equivalent means, attached to the cover 7, at the ramps 9A or between ramps 9, depending on the position of the trigger guard 30 relative to the ramps

  According to a particular variant, illustrated in FIG. 7, the height "d" can be reduced when the handles 10, 11 are fixed in line with the tank ramps, by making a central vertical projection 9B in and from the cover ramp 9, thus avoiding the addition of an additional part. Such a device allows in a simple way to have a pressure cooker whose handles can be removable, which can facilitate its storage due to the space saving obtained, but without affecting the overall safety of the device, since the handles are irremovable when the

cooking is locked.

  It follows that such a pressure cooking appliance can be offered for sale with several types of removable handles forming a paired or not of short or long handles that the user can

  use as desired according to one's own needs or the moment.

Claims (9)
