  DEVICE FOR FIXING A CHASSIS IN A BOX

  OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, AND ENCLOSURE EQUIPPED WITH SUCH

DEVICE.

  The present invention relates to a device for fixing a chassis in an electrical switchgear box intended to be embedded in a wall or the like, said box comprising a bottom wall and side walls, said chassis comprising a rail intended to receive the devices and two uprights, the two uprights being fixed respectively on two opposite side walls of the cabinet via at least one pair of orifices, each pair comprising a first orifice and a second facing orifice provided respectively in said upright and in the corresponding side wall of the

  box, each pair of holes being intended to receive a fixing screw.

  The fixing of a chassis in a box of the kind previously mentioned is carried out in a known manner as follows. The uprights have a part folded at an angle at their free end, in which two fixing orifices are provided. The edge of the corresponding side wall of the box, is also folded square and has two fixing holes intended to be placed opposite the aforementioned holes of the upright orc the end of the upright is brought into abutment on the edge folded square of the corresponding side wall of the cabinet. The fixing is then obtained by means of two fixing screws passing through the orifices provided in the rim end of the upright and screwed into the

  holes forming a screw housing provided in the free edge of the side wall concerned.

  However, such an embodiment of the fastening implies that the screw housings are protected during the casing-in operation, so as to prevent the introduction of the material used for sealing the casing, into said screw housings. One solution used to overcome such a drawback consists in making box edges which are folded inwards inside the box before the embedding operation, said edges then being unfolded towards the outside of the box in order to fix the chassis on said cabinet. This results in a relatively large complexity of the shape of each wall flange

  side and a large size of this rim inside the cabinet.

  We also know the use of sealing tabs welded to the side walls of the boxes and intended to immobilize the box according to its depth by

report to the wall.

  The present invention solves the aforementioned problems and proposes a fixing device

  making it possible to simplify the structure of the rim of the box and therefore of the box itself.

  To this end the present invention relates to a device of the kind mentioned above, this device being characterized in that after passing through the first and the second aforesaid orifices, the or each fixing screw is screwed into a third orifice provided in a part forming a sealing lug capable of immobilizing the box according to its depth. The present invention also relates to a box equipped with a device comprising the

  previously mentioned characteristics taken alone or in combination.

  But other advantages and characteristics of the invention will appear better in the

  detailed description which follows and refers to the attached drawings in which:

  - Figure 1 is a partial perspective view, illustrating the fixing of a frame on a box according to the invention, by means of a device according to the invention, - Figure 2 is a perspective view, illustrating a sealing lug alone, and

  - Figure 3 is a side view of said tab.

  In Figure 1, we see an electrical switchgear box C intended to be embedded in a wall. This box C is mainly constituted by a bottom wall 1 framed by four side walls 2,3 (of which only two are shown in the drawing). This box C is intended to accommodate one or more switchgear chassis 4, each chassis 4 consisting of a rail 5 and two uprights 6,7, said uprights 6,7 being fixed respectively to

  two opposite ends of rail 5, and extending perpendicular to said rail 5.

  The electrical equipment, most often made up of circuit breakers and switches, is intended to be fixed on the rail 5 after fixing the chassis 4 on the cabinet C. For this purpose, the free end 6a, 7a of the uprights 6, 7 is folded square and has two holes 8,9 said first, each to allow the passage of a screw. The free edges of the side walls 2,3 also form flanges 11 at right angles to the side walls 2,3 and also have two fixing holes 12,13, called second, whose spacing corresponds to the distance separating the two 8.9 holes provided

in the amount 6.

  A sealing lug 14 is fixed at the level of each upright 6,7, on the external face of the corresponding side wall 3 by clipping by means of retaining elements 15 of substantially L-shaped cross section, able to cooperate with corresponding openings (not shown) provided in said wall 3. The purpose of this sealing tab 14 is firstly to immobilize said cabinet C according to the depth of said cabinet C after the embedding operation. This tab 14 is formed by a part comprising a first part 16 allowing it to be fixed to the side wall 3 and comprising two drums 17,18 in which are tapped holes 19,20 intended to each receive a fixing screw (not shown) . The spacing between the holes 19,20 of the barrels 17,18 also corresponds to the distance separating the two holes 8,9 of the chassis 4 and to the spacing between the holes 12,13 of the flange 11. This part 14 has a second part 23 forming an inclined return, extending towards the outside of the box C in a direction inclined at an angle a greater than 90 relative to the plane of the outside face of the side wall concerned 3. This part also has three ribs of reinforcement 24,25,26 extending from the first part 16 to

  the end 23a of the second part 23.

  This tab 14 is fixed to the side wall 3 so that the two orifices 19,20 of the first part 16 are located opposite the orifices 12,13 provided in the rim 11 of the side wall 3, the upper wall of the barrels 17 , 18 being in abutment against the underside

of said edge 11.

  Advantageously, each stud 6.7 will be associated with a sealing tab 14 so

  that each post 6,7 can be fixed in a sealing lug 14.

  The operations for fixing the box in the wall and for fixing the chassis to the box will be described briefly through the following: The sealing lugs 14 are first of all fixed on the outside face of the corresponding side wall 3 of the box C by clipping by means of the retaining elements 15. Then, the assembly constituted by the box C and the lugs 14 is embedded in the opening of a wall and sealed in the wall by means of an appropriate binder. After which, each upright 6.7 belonging to a chassis 4 is fixed to the corresponding wall 3 of the box C by insertion of the screws into the corresponding openings. Thus, for each upright 6,7, two screws are each introduced into three opposite orifices 8,12,19 and 9,13, 20 provided respectively in the end 6a of the upright 6,7, in the edge 11 of the side wall 3 and in one of

two barrels 17.18.

  It can be seen that according to this method of attachment, the lower part of the orifices 19, 20 could not be obstructed by the binder, since these orifices are not through. Note that the box C being made of sheet metal, the sealing lugs 14 will preferably be made of plastic. It will also be noted that the front face of the box (not shown) can be fixed in

  same time as the chassis, each screw then passing through four successive holes.

  The chassis is thus fixed without complicating the shape of the edges of the side walls and allows the maximum space to be available inside the box. Only two simple holes need to be made in the edges of the side walls instead of

  slots for previously needed screws.

  Thus, the realization of an independent sealing lug intended to be welded on the

  side wall is no longer necessary, hence the economy of a room and its implementation.

  Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and illustrated which

  have been given by way of example only.

  This is how other types of fixing means could have been provided for fixing the legs, or else the number of fixing holes associated with each upright,

might be different.

  On the contrary, the invention includes all the technical equivalents of the means described thus

  as their combinations if these are carried out according to his spirit.

Claims (10)

CLAIMS:   1. Device for fixing a chassis in an electrical equipment cabinet intended to be embedded in a wall or the like, said cabinet comprising a bottom wall and side walls, said chassis comprising a rail intended to receive the appliances and two uprights, said uprights being fixed respectively on two opposite side walls of the cabinet via at least one pair of orifices, each pair comprising a first orifice and a second facing orifice provided respectively in said upright and in the side wall corresponding to the box, each pair of holes being intended to receive a fixing screw, characterized in that after passage through the first (8,9) and the second (12,13) above-mentioned holes, the or each screw fixing is screwed into a third orifice (19,20) provided in a part (14) forming a sealing lug (14) capable of immobilizing the following box its depth.   2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the or each upright (6,7) of the chassis (4) has a free end (6a, 7a) bent in a square capable of coming to bear on the free end (11 ) also folded in a square forming a rim, of the corresponding side wall (3) of the box C, the two folded parts in a square (6a, 11) respectively of the frame (4) and of the box C respectively comprising the first   (8,9) and second (12,13) aforementioned orifices.   3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the or each upright (6,7) comprises two fixing orifices (8,9) cooperating on the one hand with two orifices (12,13) provided in the flange (11) of the corresponding side wall (3) and other   part, with two holes (19,20) provided in the sealing lug (14).   4. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the or   each sealing lug (14) comprises a first part (16) bearing on the side wall (3) of the box C and a part forming a return (23) inclined according to a   angle oa greater than 90 relative to said side wall (3). 6 2790356   5. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that   the or each leg (14) comprises two barrels (17,18) each housing a threaded orifice (19,20) each intended to receive a screw   6. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that,   prior to fixing the chassis (4), the sealing tab (14) is clipped onto the corresponding side wall (3).   7. Device according to claim 6, characterized in that the sealing lug (14) comprises at least one retaining element (15), of substantially L-shaped cross section, able to cooperate with an opening provided in the side wall   corresponding (3), so as to achieve the fixing of the tab (14) on said wall (3).   8. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that   the sealing tab (14) is made of plastic.   9. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that   the front panel C is also fixed by means of the   aforementioned holes (8,9,12,13,19,20) and the sealing lug (14).   10. Electrical switchgear cabinet comprising a bottom wall (1) and side walls (2,3), said cabinet C being intended to house at least one chassis (4) for supporting one or more electrical appliances, the or said chassis (4) being fixed to said cabinet   C by means of a device according to any one of the preceding claims.
