Abstract

La présente invention a pour objet un implant à usage dentaire, médical ou chirurgical en céramique avec une armature. Ledit implant est destiné à être inclus totalement ou partiellement dans un logement osseux dans lequel il doit s'intégrer, et se caractérise essentiellement en ce qu'il est constitué d'un corps plein (3) en un matériau céramique dans lequel est inclu un corps (4) faisant fonction d'armature.

1 IMPLANT A USAGE DENTAIRE, MEDICAL OU CHIRURGICAL EN
CERAMIQUE AVEC UNE ARMATURE.
La présente invention a pour objet un implant en céramique avec une armature destiné à être inclus totalement ou partiellement dans un logement osseux dans lequel il doit s'intégrer. Ledit implant peut être un implant à usage dentaire, médical
ou chirurgical.
La technique connue a recherché à réaliser des implants, par exemple chirurgicaux ou dentaires qui allient une résistance mécanique satisfaisante et une grande capacité de tolérance par l'organisme vivant; c'est le critère recherché de biocompatibilité et de régénération de
l'os pour obtenir une intégration parfaite.
Il est apparu que la céramique était le matériau le mieux toléré par l'organisme. Il a été réalisé des implants,
notamment à usage dentaire en céramique.
Le brevet français n 2 571 607 décrit un implant endo-osseux en céramique, cette matière neutre chimiquement n'entraînant pas comme le métal des phénomènes de libération
d'ions pouvant générer une incompatibilité avec l'os.
Cependant, la céramique présente l'inconvénient de ne pas
offrir une résistance mécanique satisfaisante.
On a recherché à solutionner ce problème en réalisant des implants du type concerné constitués en un métal tel que du titane partiellement couvert d'un
revêtement pelliculaire céramique.
1 Le brevet français n 2 679 438 décrit un implant dentaire intra-osseux en titane ou alliage de titane comprenant un corps qui se loge dans la cavité osseuse et une tête en titane revêtue d'une pellicule céramique frittée ou de bio-verre ou complètement réalisé en céramique frittée. Le brevet européen O 211 676 décrit également un implant dentaire destiné à remplir une cavité osseuse, ledit implant en titane étant doté d'un revêtement de surface en
céramique par projection ou au chalumeau plasma.
Cette technologie que l'on trouve dans tous types d'implants tels que par exemple les implants de prothèse de hanche est sensée cumuler les caractéristiques de la céramique et du métal. En fait, il est apparu que ce cumul est souvent théorique et que son obtention est conditionnée par la bonne exécution de l'opération de revêtement et des agents de
liaison utilisés.
Les agents de liaison peuvent contenir des particules, telles que du nickel ou du chrome qui vont se dissoudre dans
les tissus avec des effets toxiques.
Dans la plupart des cas, le corps métallique doit faire l'objet d'un traitement de surface approprié pour
recevoir le revêtement.
Ces conditions d'applications font que parfois la liaison métalrevêtement céramique n'est pas bonne ou que le revêtement est susceptible d'avoir des effets négatifs par
libération dans l'organisme de ses composants.
1 La présente invention vise à obvier à ces inconvénients en réalisant un implant qui, quelque soit son usage, dentaire, médical ou chirurgical, allie réellement
les avantages de la céramique et du métal.
A cet effet, l'implant à usage dentaire, médical ou chirur- gical selon l'invention destiné à être inclus totalement ou partiellement dans un logement osseux dans lequel il doit s'intégrer, se caractérise essentiellement en ce qu'il est constitué d'un corps plein en un biomatériau céramique dans
lequel est inclus un corps faisant fonction d'armature.
Ledit corps inclus peut suivant une autre carac-
téristique avoir une fonction d'ancrage, d'appui ou de support. Le corps inclus peut être un corps métallique ou un corps en un matériau de synthèse, en carbone par exemple. Le corps
inclus peut être totalement ou partiellement inclus.
Le corps inclus est accessible et/ou visible en au moins une
zone du corps en céramique.
D'autres avantages et caractéristiques de
l'invention apparaitront à la lecture de la description ci-
après d'une forme de réalisation de l'invention donnée à titre d'exemple non limitatif et illustrée par les dessins joints dans lesquels: - la figure 1 et la figure 2 sont des vues d'un implant
selon l'invention.
L'implant selon l'invention est un implant à usage dentaire, médical ou chirurgical destiné à être inclus totalement ou partiellement dans un logement osseux dans
1 lequel il doit s'intégrer.
L'exemple de réalisation de l'implant selon l'invention est un implant à usage dentaire en deux parties, soit une racine 1 destinée à être logée dans un logement osseux et un moignon 2 rapporté sur la racine et destiné à
recevoir une dent.
Il va de soi que les caractéristiques techniques de l'invention décrites pour l'implant dentaire représentées notamment par la racine 1 destinée à être placée dans un logement osseux, sont valables pour tout type d'implant
défini ci-dessus.
L'implant selon l'invention est constitué par un corps plein 3 en un matériau céramique dans lequel est inclus de toute manière connue un corps 4 faisant fonction d'armature du corps céramique et sur lequel peut être fixé dans le cas de l'implant dentaire le moignon 2, ledit corps
inclus 4 faisant également fonction de moyen d'ancrage.
Le corps plein en céramique est une entité structurelle en soi indépendamment de l'armature constituée par le corps
inclus.
Dans l'exemple représenté, l'ancrage du moignon sur et/ou dans le corps inclus peut par exemple être réalisé par
emboitement ou par vissage.
Le corps inclus 4 donne à l'implant la résistance mécanique
que ne peut lui conférer la céramique.
Le corps inclus 4 peut être un corps métallique, par exemple en titane ou un corps en un matériau de synthèse par exemple
en carbone.

ancrage par pas de vis ou emboitement.
Le corps céramique 2 présente une épaisseur supérieure à celle des revêtements pelliculaires. Les revêtements pelliculaires n'ont ni forme, ni structure indépendamment du corps métallique ou en un autre matériau
sur lequel ils sont appliqués.
Le corps céramique se définit comme une structure.
L'avantage de l'invention est que le corps inclus 4
n'a pas à être obligatoirement réalisé en un matériau bio-
compatible. Le gainage du corps inclus 4 par le corps céramique 3 peut être obtenu par toute technique connue mécanique, physique ou chimique ou peut notamment utiliser les techniques suivantes: frittage, frettage, de l'ajustage, du collage ou la soudure, la brasure ou des moyens de liaison et fixation
mécanique ou chimique.
Le corps inclus 4 est logé dans le corps céramique qui le gaine étroitement sans mobilité de l'un par rapport à l'autre. Le corps inclus 4 peut être totalement inclus dans la céramique 3 ou partiellement inclus, le gainage pouvant se
faire sur tout ou partie du corps inclus.
Dans ce dernier cas, le corps inclus 4 est accessible en au
moins une zone du corps céramique.
Dans l'exemple des figures 1/2, le gainage est réalisé sur tout le pourtour du corps d'armature 4 et sous 1 celui-ci, seule sa partie supérieure 5 étant accessible pour
la fixation du moignon 2.
Le moignon 2 présente également un corps céramique 3 externe qui gaine un corps d'armature 4 dont une partie inférieure 6 est non seulement accessible mais également libre de tout gainage pour la fixation avec l'armature 4 de la partie 1 ou
racine de l'implant.
L'armature peut être visible aux deux extrémités du moignon.
Toutes les caractéristiques précédemment décrites pour l'implant, c'est à dire la racine sont applicables au moignon. Selon cette forme de réalisation, l'implant est en deux parties. Selon une autre forme de réalisation, l'implant
peut être en une seule partie.
Dans ce cas, comme pour les parties constitutives, lorsque l'implant est en n parties (n > 1), le corps inclus 4 peut être complètement noyé ou gainé ou peut être visible et/ou accessible en une zone ou en plusieurs zones du gainage par
le corps céramique.
La céramique utilisée est tout type de céramique biocompa-
tible, par exemple de l'alumine (AL203) ou du zircone ZrO2.

Claims (1)

REVENDICATIONS: 1 1. Implant à usage dentaire, médical ou chirurgical, ledit implant étant destiné à être inclus totalement ou partiellement dans un logement osseux dans lequel il doit s'intégrer, caractérisé en ce qu'il est constitué d'un corps plein (3) en un matériau céramique dans lequel est inclu un corps (4) faisant fonction d'armature. 2. Implant selon la revendication 1 caractérisé en ce qu'il est constitué d'un corps plein (3) en un biomatériau céramique dans lequel est inclu un corps (4) faisant fonction d'ancrage, d'appui ou de support. 3. Implant selon la revendication 1 et la revendication 2 caractérisé en ce que le corps (4) faisant fonction d'armature est un corps métallique. 4. Implant selon la revendication 1 et la revendication 2 caractérisé en ce que le corps (4) faisant fonction d'armature est en un matériau de synthèse. 5. Implant selon la revendication 1 et la revendication 2 caractérisé en ce que le corps (4) faisant fonction d'armature est en carbone. 6. Implant selon la revendication 1 et l'une quelconque des revendications 2 à 5 caractérisé en ce que le corps (4) faisant fonction d'armature est totalement inclus dans le corps en céramique. 7. Implant selon la revendication 1 et l'une quelconque des revendications 2 à 6 caractérisé en ce que le corps (4) faisant fonction d'armature est partiellement inclus dans le corps céramique.
1 8. Implant selon la revendication 1 et l'une
quelconque des revendications 2 à 7 caractérisé en ce que le
corps (4) faisant fonction d'armature est accessible en au
moins une zone du corps céramique.
9. Implant selon la revendication 1 et l'une
quelconque des revendications 2 à 8 caractérisé en ce que le
corps (4) faisant fonction d'armature sert de support à un
ou des éléments annexes adjoints à l'implant.
10. Implant selon la revendication 1 et la reven-
dication 9 caractérisé en ce que le ou les éléments annexes
adjoints à l'implant est un moignon (2).
11. Implant selon la revendication 1 et l'une
quelconque des revendications 2 à 10 caractérisé en ce que
le corps inclus (4) dans le corps céramique est un corps
plein.
12. Implant selon la revendication 1 et l'une
quelconque des revendications 2 à 9 caractérisé en ce que le
corps inclus dans le corps céramique est un corps creux.
13. Implant selon la revendication 1 et l'une
quelconque des revendications 2 à 12 caractérisé en ce que
le corps céramique (3) est en un matériau céramique bio-
compatible. 14. Implant selon la revendication 1 et l'une
quelconque des revendications 2 à 13 caractérisé en ce que
le corps céramique est en alumine AL203 ou en zircone ZrO2.
15. Implant selon la revendication 1 et les
revendications 2 à 14 caractérisé en ce que le moignon
g implantaire est un corps plein en un matériau céramique dans lequel est inclus un corps faisant fonction d'armature tel
que défini aux revendications précédentes.
