Abstract

The ballet shoe comprises an insert, made by moulding a semi-rigid material, incorporating toecap (1) and an arch support (2). The toecap part of the insert comprises a lower flat wall (10) and an upper rounded wall (11). These delimit a rounded cavity (12) intended to contain the toes. The lower flat wall has an extension (14) of decreasing width. The arch support part projects from the lower face of the lower wall. The lower wall has on the side and front part of its periphery a U shaped edge (16) projecting from its lower face (17) and delimiting a recess (18) in which the arch support part originates. The shoe provides greater comfort for the dancer when on her toes.
