Abstract

The display stand (10) has a base which is a parallelepiped compartment whose top is closed by a fixed shelf (22). An upper shelf (14) can be retracted, when it is empty, by a counterweight (16) that is joined to the shelf by a cord (18). The upper shelf is articulated on an extension (28) of the back of the base and round a horizontal axle (30). The shelf is held down by the weight of the articles (A) and non-elastic cords (32) are fixed to either side of the shelf and to the back of the base, to hold it horizontal.
