Abstract

An aroma diffuser consists of a base with candles (3) and a central support (2) for a propeller (1) made from a porous material and impregnated with an aromatic substance which is evaporated by the heat from the candles. The propeller is rotated by the rising air from the candles diffusing the aroma from the evaporated substance. In a variant of the design the propeller can be made from a metal or the non-porous material, and decorative articles suspended from the propeller blades can be impregnated with the aromatic substance.

The present invention relates to a device for diffusing aromatic substances into the surrounding air.

The aroma diffusers used until now are: either static terracotta diffusers which scent the ambient air by simple evaporation of the aromatic substances which they contain; either diffusers which burn an aromatic substance such as incense, resin, wood powder or dried plants; either diffusers which heat a container in which the aromatic materials are found; or diffusers using the vaporization of liquid substances by projecting them, using a stream of compressed air in a vaporizing device; or devices using the ultrasound technique to diffuse or atomize aromatic substances.

The device according to the invention makes it possible to diffuse the aromatic materials by using both the diffusion by evaporation from a piece of porous material in the form of a helix (1), the diffusion by the heating thereof, and the diffusion by dispersion, this being generated by the rotary movement of the piece of porous material impressed by the flow of hot air produced by the heat source on this piece, and in particular thanks to its helical shape which makes it sensitive to the movement of the air.

The porous aromatic substance support piece which has the shape of a helix, is articulated horizontally on a vertical axis (2) supporting it from a base or supporting it from a hook.

The shape of this piece can be decorative, and represent figurines or any other drawing allowing it to turn freely thanks to the aforementioned energy.

The porous part is not in direct contact with any gear or pulley or belt connecting it to the energy source. It can be interchangeable so as not to mix the odors as desired by the user.

The device according to the invention is driven by the energy of candles (3).

These candles develop this dwarf heat which increases the evaporation of the aromatic substances contained in the propeller made of porous material. This heat causes an upward current of hot air which acts as a propellant on the blades of the propeller allowing to add to the static diffusion, a more important propagation of the aromatic substances thanks to the movement of this propeller.

A variant not illustrated of the invention comprises a propeller made of metal or any other non-porous material on which are hung decorative or non-decorative subjects, manufactured in a porous material which then carries the aromatic substances to be diffused.

this propeller is placed in the same situation on a vertical axis and is moved by the heat of the candles placed below. the aromatic substances which soak the subjects, are dispersed in the ambient air by the same three combined effects of evaporation, heating, and movement.

REVENDICA TIONS 1) Device for diffusing aromatic substances into the surrounding air, characterized by the joint action of the evaporation of aromatic substances, the heating thereof, and the rotary movement which disperses them in the ambient air, printed on the support substances, itself in the form of a propeller, by a heat source supplied by candles; without these being in direct contact with the support or connected by a gear or by a belt. 2) Device according to claim 1, characterized in that it differs from the first by the composition of the material of its propeller which is not made of porous material but in that it hangs elements or subjects in material porous which are soaked with aromatic substances and which become the supports of said substances.
