Abstract

  The invention relates to a trunk for transporting goods, comprising a container provided with a bottom and a cover, at least

the latter being retractable.

  The present invention will find its application in the field of the manufacture of trunks particularly intended for the

transport of fragile material.

  In fact, the trunks in question in the context of the

  present description, are those which from a point of view of their

  pure mechanical strength but also their resistance to certain particular constraints, such as frequent variations in temperature and humidity, are able to meet very strict criteria as intended, in particular, for the transport of

fragile material.

  For example, such trunks can be used for transporting electrical or electronic equipment or even fragile musical instruments, when traveling by land or air, for example. Thus, these trunks are often put to the test during loading and unloading operations and even during the actual transport during which they are likely to undergo significant thermal shocks. Thus, the temperature variations during air transport can be large. In this regard, these specific constraints also impose the use of specific materials for the production of these trunks. In particular, their walls are, generally, either metallic, in particular aluminum for reasons of weight reduction, or wooden, knowing that plywood plywood

being the most used.

  Anyway, these trunks for transporting goods are defined by a container, generally of parallelepipedal shape, but which can, very well, take other forms. This container is provided with a bottom and a cover of which at least the latter is retractable.   peripheral walls of the container.

  Also, we see that the design of a removable cover is relatively complex, since it involves fixing, on the periphery of a flat panel, a rim of a certain height, the external angle thus defined by the assembled elements being necessarily covered by a protective angle. Then it is necessary to engage on the edge of the edge of this flange an interlocking profile to be fixed, generally, by riveting. In this regard, this method of fixing by riveting the angle angles or interlocking profiles on the different walls of the trunk is, here again, the most used, because of its good resistance over time and mechanical constraints that are brought to undergo

  The present invention aims, specifically, to find a solution to simplify the design of a removable cover

  As shown in Figure 1, the present invention relates to a trunk i for transporting goods. In fact, this trunk is more particularly intended to contain fragile material for its transport in perfect conditions of protection against shocks. Thus, this trunk i comprises a container 2 whose shape is, generally parallelepipedal or other, knowing, by the way, that this container 2 can also be

  of rounded shape and more particularly cylindrical.

  This trunk 1 further comprises a bottom (not visible) and a

  cover 3, at least the latter of which is retractable in nature.

  In this regard, it should be noted that if the cover 3 constitutes, in the context of the trunk shown in Figure 1, the upper wall of the latter, it could also define any of the side walls of the trunk 1. In moreover, if the bottom (not visible) must be provided retractable, it does not constitute, neither more nor less, a cover allowing the access to the internal part of the container of the trunk 1. Under these conditions this bottom will resume the characteristics of the cover 3, as it goes, at

present, be described.

  In fact, one of the characteristics of the present invention consists in that said cover 3 is constituted by a simple flat panel 4 which, as visible in FIG. 3, is able to rest on an angle 5 defined by a profile d covering 6 of general "U" shape engaged on the upper edge 7 of the wall

  cylindrical or flat walls 8, 9 defining the container 2.

  Thus, this covering profile 6 comprises a wall 10 coming to be situated outside the container 2, a wall 11 has parallel to the previous one, inside the container 2, as well as a perpendicular connecting wall 12. In fact, the latter is applied to the upper edge 7 of the wall or walls 8, 9 of the container 2, while defining with the outer wall 10 of this covering profile 6, a corner angle 13 constituting a

  effective protection of trunk 1 against shocks.

  As for the angle iron 5, mentioned above, it is formed by the internal wall 11 of the covering profile 6 comprising a wing 14 extending perpendicularly to its main plane 15 and, therefore, parallel to the panel 4 defining the

cover 3.

  Preferably, this perpendicular wing 14 is located, with respect to the external side 16 of the connecting wall 12, at a

  distance D corresponding, at least, to the thickness E of the panel 4.

  It is obvious that the wall or walls 8, 9 defining the container 2 can be provided on either side on their

  edges of ends 7, 17, of a covering profile 6 according to the invention allowing this container 2 to receive the bottom in an identical manner to the cover 3. However, if the bottom must be provided not retractable, we can perfectly consider making the panel defining this bottom integral with the angle 5, by

example by riveting.

  In contrast, clasps, of appropriate and customary configuration can ensure the retention, in a retractable manner, of the cover 3 in the form of a flat panel 4, on the container 2. In addition, this panel 4, defining the cover 3, can also

  be mounted articulated on said container 2.

  It will also be observed that the bottom and / or the cover can be subdivided into two or more parts, some of which are

removable and others not.

  As already mentioned above, the advantages arising from the present invention consist in a simplification of the design of the trunks and, therefore, in a lower cost price of the latter, without this being obtained at the expense of

  their quality and, in particular, their mechanical strength.

  Also, the present invention should be considered as

  representing a clear progress in the technical field considered.

  Although the invention has been described with reference to a particular embodiment, it is understood that it is in no way limited thereto and that it is possible to make various modifications to the forms, materials and combinations of these. various elements,

  without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention.

Claims   1. Trunk for transporting goods, comprising a container (2) provided with a bottom and a cover (3) of which at least the latter is retractable, characterized in that at least said cover (3) is constituted by a flat panel (4) which is able to rest on an angle (5) defined by a covering profile (6) of general "U" shape engaged on the upper edge (7) of   l0 the wall (s) (8, 9) defining the container (2).   2. Trunk according to claim 1, characterized in that the covering profile (6) has a wall (10) located outside the container (2), a wall (11) arranged parallel to the previous inside the container (2), and a perpendicular connecting wall (12) which comes to bear on the upper edge (7) of the wall or walls (8, 9) of the container (2), while defining, with the external wall (10) of this trim profile (6), a corner angle (13) to protect the trunk (1) against impact.   3. Trunk according to claims i and 2, characterized by   fact that the angle iron (5) is formed by the internal wall (11) of the covering profile (6) comprising a wing (14) extending perpendicularly relative to its main plane (15) and, therefore,   parallel to the panel (4) defining the cover (3).   4. Trunk according to claim 3, characterized in that the perpendicular wing (14) is located, relative to the external side (16) of the connecting wall (12), at a corresponding distance D,   at least, to the thickness E of the panel (4).   5. Trunk according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that the wall or walls (8, 9) defining the container (2) are provided, on either side, on their end edge (7, 17), with a covering profile ( 6) for reception bottom and cover (3). 7 2738803   6. Trunk according to claim 5, characterized in that the panel defining the non-retractable bottom is made integral   container (2) by riveting on the angle iron (5).   7. Trunk according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that it includes clasps of an appropriate configuration to ensure the maintenance, so   retractable, from the cover (3) on the container (2).   8.
