Abstract

The bed (10) pivots on a horizontal axle to fold up into a cupboard (1) and is balanced by a counterweight (14), at its head end. The cupboard is extended forward (7) at the bottom and the centre of gravity of the bed is always in the extension. The extension forms a seat, when the bed is folded up, and has a cushion (17) on it. A cushion (8), attached to the lower surface of the bed, forms the back of the seat. The shape of the cushions is complementary so that they don't touch when the bed is horizontal. USE - Bed folding into cupboard and forming bench when folded up.
