Abstract

Improvement to stopper devices made of injected plastic material for bottles whose neck is smooth and not threaded. This improvement consists in interposing, between the external part of the neck or cap (2) and the internal part of the neck or stopper (1), an intermediate part or insert (3) held in place in the cap (2) by outer capping or engagement. This intermediate part (3) is made from a material making it possible to ensure an efficient assembly between itself and the stopper (1) by gluing.

Description

 Improvement to injection-molded plastic corking devices for bottles with a smooth, non-threaded neck.

 A common form of closure is achieved by a device made up of two parts. A first part (1) Figure 1 made of natural material such as cork or agglomerated cork is bonded to the inside of a cap (2) made of injected plastic.

 This cap (2) most often made of ploypropylene or polyethylene materials chosen for ease of molding and especially for their ability to give particular aesthetic results.

 This material, by its nature, has the characteristic of being practically unbeatable. This therefore results in great assembly difficulties between the part (1) and the part (2).

 This causes these parts to be dissociated when uncorking, the use of a corkscrew, the non-reuse of the assembly to close a bottle whose content is partially consumed.

 This improvement according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks.

 It consists of interposing between the injected polypropylene or polyethylene part (2) and the plug (1) an intermediate piece (3) Figure 2.

This piece (3) of substantially tubular shape will be made of material compatible with good bonding with the plug (1). By way of non-limiting example, this could be a stickable plastic material such as polystyrene, metal, or even wood.

 So that this intermediate piece (3) is effectively secured to the cap (2) it can be molded by the plastic during the injection of the latter during the molding of the cap (2). To properly maintain this part (3) we will have formed on its outer periphery streaks, knurling, grooves, isolation or association, or any other known methods which will oppose its extraction. The plug (1) will then be stuck efficiently inside this intermediate piece (3). Figure 3 shows a type of insert (3) knurled and grooved by way of non-limiting example.

 In another embodiment, this intermediate piece (3) can be inserted into the piece (2) after molding of the latter.

It will be held in place by clipping using conforming grooves in such a way that insertion is possible by deformation of the material and impossible extraction, a system known to those skilled in the art. Figure 4.

 The improvement according to the invention is intended for plastic corking devices for bottles whose neck is smooth and not threaded.

Claims (3)

1- Improvement of corking devices, in injected plastic material, for bottle whose neck is smooth and not threaded and characterized in that it comprises between the stopper (1) and the cap (2) an intermediate piece or insert (3 ) to ensure proper assembly of the assembly and particularly good bonding of the plug (1). 2- Improvement according to claim 1 characterized in that the intermediate piece or insert (3) is positioned and immobilized in the cap (2) by overmolding during the injection of the latter. 3- Improvement according to claim 1 characterized in that the part or insert (3) is inserted into the cap (2) after molding of the latter and held in place by clipping.
