Abstract

The present invention relates to a device and to a simple method permitting the positioning of packages, made from thin folded sheets welded on the edges, on objects which are possibly soft, without manual contact with the object to be wrapped. The method is characterised in that the object is held between two retractable surfaces consisting of elements (5) which can be withdrawn, in that the said object and the said surfaces are wrapped in the package, in that the elements which can be withdrawn are withdrawn outside the said package into the shafts (chimneys) (3, 4) provided for this purpose, and in that the packaged object is then discharged.
