Abstract

The track is composed of several cavities 1 which enable each of the players to throw their dice into the cavity allocated to them in order not to disrupt the game of their neighbour. Housings 5 may be provided around the cavities in order to deposit the dice therein so as to clear the corresponding cavity for another throw.

Description

The invention relates to a track for playing ds.

The known tracks allow games which are played in particular with six-sided dice like the ace polder, like the 421 or any other similar game. They generally consist of a circular planar surface comprising a substantially vertical border of greater height and the largest dimension of those used. The problem is that if you play a game of dice requiring the simultaneous use of several identical games by different players7 you risk mixing the games together or hitting with your own dice, the dice of other players and distort the game.

The invention makes it possible to solve this problem by dividing the initial track into several cells so as to constitute for the players individual tracks where each player can roll his dice without disturbing the play of his neighbor. It is possible like this to leave the dice of each in the position obtained when they were rolled. Each player can then compare the combinations obtained with each other.

Fig.1 shows a track with cells with around their circumference housing for the dice.

The shape of the cells (1) Fig.1 is variable and must take into account the space available and the accessibility. They don't even have to be identical to each other. One of the ways to do this is to make cells (1) substantially triangular with very rounded angles (2) which are distributed around a center (3) like the quarters of an orange so as to register substantially in a circle. For example, the shape of the cell is obtained from a hexagon of which three of the non-consecutive sides are linked in pairs by arcs of a circle tangent to their ends and whose radius is equal to the length of the side of the hexagon. But one can imagine any other shape, in particular polygonal elliptical or circular which are to be chosen taking into account the number of cells to be produced. When there are many cells, it is not practical to leave dice in the cell when you have to roll other dice, because you can hit them and change their position. It is practical to produce, around the cell, at its upper edge (4), small housings (5) of shallow depth which can each receive a die. When the die has been thrown in the cell (1), it is gripped by hand to transfer it to its housing (5) or it is placed keeping the same upper face. The housing (5) is used to hold the die in the position obtained during the game. The shape of the housing (5) is preferably circular, with a diameter slightly greater than the circle circumscribed on the flat faces of the players, and, its depth is substantially equal to or greater than a quarter of its height.

When the cells (1) are numerous, it may be advantageous for each cell to be independent of the others. They are assembled at the time of the game then when the game is over they are uncoupled for other rows more easily and take up less space. The coupling of these tracks uses very simple known means in that it suffices to pocket the cells to move relative to each other in a horizontal plane. It is interesting to give them a shape allowing them to nest in each other in order to reduce their bulk during storage.

This track is particularly suitable for the open poker game played with five eight-sided dice which are thrown one after the other on the track and then stored in their slots in front of each player.
