Abstract

The device allows the practitioner without moving, to place and remove under the neck of the patient, using three articulated arms which can be moved with respect to each other, a module which is a support for the suction system, a receptacle and a light source. On this module, pierced with three tunnels, one of which is Y shaped, may be placed at will a surgical suction tube or a single saliva pump or two simultaneously acting saliva pumps. The ensemble is fixed to the left or to the right of the backrest of the dental chair by two suckers. The device according to the invention is in particular intended for facilitating work at the dental chair, avoiding any unproductive movement, and affording an appreciable time saving.

Description

This invention allows the immediate repositioning and blocking of the suction tip and the container at the patient's chin.

Traditionally, saliva aspiration is carried out by a saliva ejector modeled manually in the shape of a hook and bearing on the book and the lingual floor of the patient.

The device according to the invention makes it possible to mount on the support two saliva ejectors in simultaneous action allowing both an aspiration in the vestibulo-jugual groove and an aspiration at the lingual floor.

On the upper surface, which therefore comprises four orifices, it is possible to attach either a surgical suction cannula, or a saliva ejector, or two saliva ejectors in simultaneous action.

The rear side has three end pieces: one for the surgical aspirator hose, one for the salivary aspirator hose, and the third identical to the second corresponds to the Y tunnel.

The front side has three hooks to fix the cart which is placed around the patient's neck and collects excess water.

The rear face serves as a mooring for the lighting system of the operating field composed of a bulb which sends a narrow, directable light beam. The reminder string attached to this face allows the practitioner, after the patient has rinsed with a simple pulling movement, to bring the module back to the correct position without moving
This module is fixed on a horizontal arm, itself connected to the second horizontal arm by an axis allowing a rotation of 3600 of the first relative to the second. The second horizontal arm is connected to the vertical arm by an axis allowing it to rotate 3600.The vertical arm slides, as the description indicates, in the axis of two vertically arranged suction cups which fix the assembly to the seat back dental.

The advantages of this system are manifold. It saves time by repositioning the suction at the level of the oral cavity. It prevents the saliva ejector or the suction cannula from bearing on the patient's lip and floor. This one, no longer hampered, will no longer tend to push back the suction pump. The mouthpiece of the saliva ejector can be precisely directed to the exact place to be aspirated and held there without the practitioner, assistant or awkwardly the patient being forced to hold it.

The simultaneous aspiration by two cannulas on either side of the operating field makes it possible to keep dry this last essential thing in the success of our therapeutics. The recall string saves time and fatigue. Selective lighting thanks to a narrow beam avoids visual fatigue. The vertically placed suction cups allow this system to be easily adapted to a right-handed or left-handed unit
The elements of this device are made of P; V; C by extrusion;
The hooks on the anterior face holding the container prevents the patient from holding it under his neck. The container is also made of PVC by the injection molding technique.
