Ces barres rigides ont pour but de brider les fibres de l'armature textile évitant ainsi tout vrillage dû au décadrage entre les fils de trame et de chaine du tissu. De plus elles servent aussi à pincer une lèvre de la vessie interne ltempêchant de se vriller et de causer un vinillissement prématuré.
