Abstract

1. Fitting (1) for a door, window or the like, comprising at least an espagnolette or espagnolette-lock (2) provided with several vertically moving locking members (9, 10) co-operating with keepers arranged on the sash-frame of the door, window or the like, these locking members (9, 10) being integral with either an actuating rod or two actuating rods (11, 12) moving in opposite direction, sliding behind a head plate (13), characterized in that it comprises a solid profile (16, 30) having at least two vertical channels (17, 18) extending parallel to one another, over the full height of the door, window or the like, one of which serves as housing for the espagnolettes or espagnolettes-locks (2) and the second one as housing for the head plate (13) and/or the rod or rods (11, 12).

Description

The invention relates to a fitting for a door, window or the like, comprising

  cremone or espagnolette-lock with several locking elements

  vertical movement and cooperating with strikes arranged on the

  the frame of the door, window or the like, these locking elements being integral with either an operating rod or two rods of

  movement maneuver in opposite direction, sliding behind a headrest.

  It is known to use such fittings for locking the door, window or the like. These fittings are generally housed, by notching,

  in the thickness and on the edge of the opening or the frame of the door or

  not to be. Therefore, it is essential to machine them beforehand so as to make housing suitable for receiving, either strikes, or the espagnolette or espagnolette-lock, or the rods and the headrest. These machining operations, on the one hand, represent a waste of time and, on the other hand, enhance the

  cost of the door or window. It is therefore wise to mitigate these

disadvantages.

  Moreover, it is known from document FR-A-2,216,830 a device

  door lock with a cremone-lock to actuate

  multaneously several bolts via rods maneuvering.

  All of these bolts and the transmission mechanism, namely the rods

  and the espagnolette-lock is housed in a single box fixed in

in "U" assembled.

  It should also be noted that this lock device can not, under any circumstances, be applied to cremones or espagnolette locks provided with elements of

  vertical movement lock. Indeed, it is essential to

  see these locking elements retract inside the "U" profile to fit the "U" profile forming the cover. Similarly, the openings

  in the casing constituting the strikes are not suitable for receiving

  locking elements with vertical displacement such as rollers or others.

  The present invention aims to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks,

  while retaining the advantages of the unique case containing either the elements

  locks, the operating rods and the cremone or espagnolette

  lock, or strikes cooperating with the locking elements.

  For this purpose, the invention relates to a fitting for a door, window or

  log, comprising a cremone or espagnolette-lock provided with a plurality of vertically movable locking elements and cooperating with arranged strikes

  on the frame of the door, window or the like, these elements of ver-

  rusting being secured, either of an operating rod, or of two moving rods in opposite direction, sliding behind

  a headrest, fitting characterized in that it comprises a profile present-

  at least two vertical corridors extending over the entire height of the

  door, window or the like, one of which serves as housing for the cremones or

  mones-locks and the second to housing the headrest and / or the

maneuvering rods.

  The advantages of such a fitting consist essentially in that the

  time of realization and the time of assembly of this fitting are reduced.

  Moreover, this fitting can be arranged on the edge of the opening and -3 -

  the frame of the door or window, while avoiding the machining of these.

  Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent during

  the following description given as a non-restrictive example and to the

  The fitting 1 comprises at least one espagnolette or espagnolette-lock 2. The figure

  maneuver rods 11,12 but it is obvious that the fitting 1, con-

  form to the invention, can comprise only one operating rod provided with a plurality of locking elements. Likewise, this FIG. 1 represents only a part of the fitting 1 and the operating rods 11, 12 may comprise several locking elements 9, 10 distributed over any

the height of the door or window.

  According to the invention, the fitting 1 comprises a profile having at least two vertical corridors 17 and 18 extending over the entire height of the door,

  window or the like of which one serves as housing cremones or cremons-

  2 and the second to the housing of the headrest 13 and / or the rod or rods

maneuvering 11,12.

  Figure 2 shows a sectional view of a profile 16 according to a first embodiment. This profile 16 has a section "U" formed by two parallel wings 19,20 connected by a bottom 21. the wings 19,20 respectively constitute the inner face 6 and the outer face 22 of the fitting 1 (see Figure 1). The profile 16 also comprises an internal partition 23 serving as a reinforcement. This partition 23 may extend over the entire length of the profile 16 or have interruptions, especially at the level of the cremone (s)

  According to a feature of the invention, the profile 16 may comprise either fixing means applied to the opening of the door or window, or fixing means on the edge of the opening. For the fastening applied, holes are made in the wings 19,20 for passage to fasteners such as screws or other. Similarly, for attachment to the edge of the opening, there are openings in the internal wall 23 and the bottom 21 of the profile 16, these holes also serving as a passage to said

fasteners.

  The profile 30 shown in Figures 3 and 4 corresponds to a second embodiment. This profile 30 consists of a tubular section 31,

  of rectangular section, and a "U" shaped profile 32, a partition 33 corres-

  simultaneously laying at the bottom of the "U" shaped profile 32 and at a lateral side of the

tubular section 31.

  -5 - The inner space 34 of the tubular section 31 constitutes the corridor 17 for housing the cremone or espagnolette-locks 2. For this purpose, the

  partition 33 presents interruptions in these cremones or espagnolettes-

  locks 2, as shown in Figure 3, allowing the engagement thereof in the tubular section 31. The corridor 18 serving as a housing for the headrest 13 but also to the rods 11,12 is formed by the inner walls 35, 36 wings respectively 37.38 of the "U" profile 32 and the side 39 of the partition 33. Just as previously, the wings 37.38 of the profile

  in "U" 32 have, at their free end 40, a shoulder 41 adapted to re-

see the headrest 13.

  This profile 30 may also comprise fastening means applied

  or on the opening of the door or window. For fixation in

  or on the edge, holes are made respectively through the sides 42,43 of the profile 30 or orifices machined in the partition 33 and the side

  lateral portion 44 of the tubular section 31. These orifices serve as a passage for

  fasteners such as screws or others.

  The advantages of fixing profile 16 or 30 to the edge of a door

  or window consist essentially in that this door or window does not

  no prior machining is required to house the cremone or espagnolette

  locks 2 and the rod or rods 11,12 and the headrest 13. There is also

  a gain of material at the door or window. Indeed, it can be reduced by a width corresponding to the width 45 of the profile 16

or 30.

  In the case of an applied fastening of these sections 16 or 30 on the inside face

  dull of an opening of a door or window, it may be wise to re-

  cover the holes or fasteners located on wing 19 of the

  spun 16 or on the side 42 of the profile 30. For this purpose, the profiles 16 or 30

  20 of the profile 16 or on the inner wall 56 of the side 43 of the profile 30.

  The fitting 1 also includes latches co-operating with the elements of

  locking 9,10 arranged on the rods 11,12 and with the bolt

mant 3 and latch bolt 4.

  The latches shown in FIG. 1 are formed by openings 53, 54 machined in a section 55. The openings 53 are able to receive the locking elements 9, 10 and the openings 54 are appropriate for the shape of the dead bolt 3 and the latch bolt 4. The profile 55 can be fixed either

  on the edge, either applied to the frame of the door, window or

  logue. Although the invention has been described with respect to a particular embodiment, it is understood that it is not limited thereto and that

  can make various modifications of shapes, materials and combinations

  of these various elements, without departing from the framework and

the spirit of the invention.

claims   1. Fitting for a door, window or the like, comprising a cremone lock   provided with a number of vertically movable locking elements and   with locks arranged on the frame of the door, window or the like, these locking elements being integral with either an operating rod or two operating rods moving in opposite direction, sliding behind a headrest , characterized in that it comprises a profile (16,30) having at least two vertical corridors (17, 18) extending over the entire height of the door, window or the like, one of which   serves as housing for cremones or espagnolettes-locks (2) and the second to the house-   the headrest (13) and / or the operating rod or rods (11, 12).   2. Fitting according to claim 1, characterized in that the pro-   spun is a profile (16) of section "U" formed by two wings (19,20) rec   linked by a bottom (21) having an internal partition (23) serving as reinforcement.   3.
