DESCRIPTION
La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'intervention rapide et provisoire sur connexions défectueuses de canalisations en pression
Le dispositif est plus précisément destiné aux exploitations pétrolières sous-marines mais son utilisation peut être étendue à toutes exploitations terrestres (pétrolières, chimiques, ou nucléaires) à chaque fois qu'il n'est plus possible d'intervenir sur la connexion elle-même et que le service de la canalisation doit être impérativement maintenu
Le dispositif pourra être installé autour de la connexion défectueuse tout en maintenant l'exploitation de la canalisation
Le dispositif est une enceinte constituée de deux demi-coquilles reliées entre elles par des brides longitudinales et la boulonnerie (BE)
Le volume intérieur de l'enceinte est assez vaste pour englober toute la connexion (par brides ou par clamp) et la boulonnerie en place (BT)
L'étanchéité de l'enceinte est réalisée
- dans le plan longitudinal par les joints toriques (UE) et (UI)
en place sur la demi-coquille inférieure
- sur la canalisation
- par une étanchéité préliminaire obtenue par deux couples de
joints toriques (J) en place à chaque extrémité de l'enceinte
- par une étanchéité définitive obtenue en injectant de la résine
époxy dans les couronnes (R) isolées par chaque couple de
joints toriques
L' isolation des couronnes (R) par les joints toriques (J) va permettre un traitement chimique des surfaces incluses, entre les joints (J), de la canalisation, afin d'assurer un bon accrochage de la résine sur le matériau de celle-ci
Pendant l'installation de l'enceinte et polymérisation de la résine dans les couronnes (R), la fuite de la connexion est canalisée par l'orifice de purge (OP) équipée d'une vanne
Après polymérisation de la résine, l'orifice (OP) est obturé et la fuite de la connexion entièrement maintenue par l'enceinte dont les épaisseurs ont été dimensionnées en rapport de la pression de service de la cana lisation
La géométrie et l'état de surface des couronnes(R) permettent un démontage ultérieur de l'enceinte en ne laissant sur la canalisation que deux couronnes de résine
La Figure 1 de la Planche 1/1 montre une coupe verticale et longitudinale de la demi-coquille supérieure et le plan de joint longitudinal de la demi-coquille inférieure
La coupe verticale et longitudinale montre le principe essentiel du dispositif
- le volume central de l'enceinte englobe entièrement la connexion défectueuse (B) / (B) et toute sa boulonnerie en place (BT)
De part et d'autre de la connexion, l'enceinte assure une étanchéité préliminaire par l'intermédiaire de deux couples de joints toriques (J) chaque couple de joints (J) isolant une couronne (R)
Les joints (J), d'un diamètre de l'ordre 1/15 du diamètre de la canalisation, sont en néoprène souple (50 SHORE) et se présentent en longueurs légèrement supérieures à la circonférence de la canalisation ; ils sont mis en place autour de la canalisation et dans les gorges de la demi-coquille inférieure approchée avant mise en place de la coquille supérieure ; le bout à bout des joints se faisant dans les gorges de la coquille inférieure
Le diamètre important et la souplesse des joints (J) permettent d'absorber toutes les irrégularités de surface de la canalisation et la présence éventuelle d'un cordon de soudure longitudinale
L'étanchéité préliminaire obtenue par les joints (J) et le serrage des demi-coquilles sur les joints (Ul) et (UE) par la boulonnerie (BT), isole entèrement les couronnes (R) de la connexion défectueuse dont la fuite est canalisée par l'orifice de purge (OP)
Les orifices d'injection (OI) que l'on trouve sur la coquille supérieure et sur la coquille inférieure permettent

20/ L'injection de résine d'étanchéité dans les couronnes (R)
Le plan de joint de la coquille inférieure montre le cheminement des joints (UE) et (UI) qui assurent l'étanchéité longitudinale du dispositif
Avant injection de la résine, les joints (UE) et (UI) ne sont pas complètement écrasés laissant un espace de quelques millimètres entre les plans de joint des demi-coquilles
Lors de l'injection de résine, l'espace libre entre les deux joints (UE) et (Ul) sera envahi par la résine créant une continuité parfaite d'étanchéité entre les couronnes (R) et les plans de joint du dispositif DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a device for rapid and temporary intervention on defective connections of pressure pipes.
The device is more specifically intended for underwater oil operations but its use can be extended to all land operations (oil, chemical, or nuclear) whenever it is no longer possible to intervene on the connection itself and that the service of the pipeline must be imperatively maintained
The device can be installed around the faulty connection while maintaining the operation of the pipeline
The device is an enclosure made up of two half-shells connected together by longitudinal flanges and the bolts (BE)
The interior volume of the enclosure is large enough to encompass the entire connection (by flanges or by clamp) and the bolts in place (BT)
The enclosure is sealed
- in the longitudinal plane by the O-rings (UE) and (UI)
in place on the lower half-shell
- on the pipeline
- by a preliminary seal obtained by two pairs of
O-rings (J) in place at each end of the enclosure
- by a final seal obtained by injecting resin
epoxy in the crowns (R) insulated by each pair of
o-rings
The insulation of the crowns (R) by the O-rings (J) will allow a chemical treatment of the surfaces included, between the joints (J), of the pipe, in order to ensure a good adhesion of the resin on the material of that -this
During the installation of the enclosure and polymerization of the resin in the crowns (R), the connection leak is channeled through the purge orifice (OP) equipped with a valve
After polymerization of the resin, the orifice (OP) is closed and the leakage of the connection entirely maintained by the enclosure, the thicknesses of which have been dimensioned in relation to the operating pressure of the pipe.
The geometry and the surface condition of the rings (R) allow a subsequent dismantling of the enclosure, leaving only two resin rings on the pipe.
Figure 1 of Plate 1/1 shows a vertical and longitudinal section of the upper half-shell and the longitudinal joint plane of the lower half-shell
The vertical and longitudinal section shows the essential principle of the device
- the central volume of the enclosure fully encompasses the defective connection (B) / (B) and all its bolts in place (BT)
On either side of the connection, the enclosure provides a preliminary seal by means of two pairs of O-rings (J) each pair of seals (J) insulating a crown (R)
The seals (J), with a diameter of about 1/15 of the diameter of the pipe, are made of flexible neoprene (50 SHORE) and come in lengths slightly greater than the circumference of the pipe; they are placed around the pipe and in the grooves of the lower half-shell approached before the upper shell is placed; the butt joints are made in the grooves of the lower shell
The large diameter and flexibility of the joints (J) allow to absorb all the irregularities of the surface of the pipe and the possible presence of a longitudinal weld bead
The preliminary tightness obtained by the seals (J) and the tightening of the half-shells on the seals (Ul) and (EU) by the bolts (BT), completely isolates the crowns (R) from the defective connection whose leakage is channeled through the drain opening (OP)
The injection ports (OI) found on the upper shell and on the lower shell allow

The joint plane of the lower shell shows the path of the joints (UE) and (UI) which ensure the longitudinal tightness of the device
