Abstract

Device permitting the flexible holding of a tie against a shirt via its "loop", characterised in that it is composed of elongate elements 3 and 4 in which narrow slots 5 and 7 are provided, defining long aligned buttonholes each intended to receive one button of the shirt, which button is capable of being displaced longitudinally inside each slot and the part 1 passing through the "loop" of the tie and ensuring the link between the said elements.

Description

 The present invention relates to an invisible device allowing, without the use of a pin or a clamp, to keep flexible, a tie against a shirt.

 It should first of all be recalled that all the usual ties include a tongue defining a loop oriented transversely on the rear face of the large pan, and through which the small pan can be passed after the tie knot has been formed. In the remainder of the text, this tab will be designated by "passing".

In the currently known technique, the devices intended to fix the tie on the shirt mainly comprise the following categories
1 - tie pins
2 - clamps or bars
3 - buttonholes on the surface
of the passerby and allowing to fix the tie
on the front of the shirt.

4 - the chains
The first category has the disadvantage of being visible and of damaging the tie after repeated use. The second category-has the defect of being visible and unattractive. The third category requires an adjustment of the tie and poses problems for the correct positioning of the tie relative to the shirt.

 In these first three cases, the tie is rigidly attached to the shirt. However, when the position of the user's neck changes relative to his bust (by passing, for example, from the standing position to the sitting position), the tie tends to move longitudinally relative to the bust. It follows that in the event of a rigid link at one point between the tie and the shirt, this will cause either an abnormal tension of the tie or a curvature of the latter on the front.

 The fourth category - the chain - allows the flexible retention of the tie but it is unattractive and requires positioning by pinning on the shirt which is harmful for the latter in the event of repeated use.

The device according to the invention makes it possible to avoid such drawbacks. The advantages are:
- It is invisible because it is positioned behind the tie but also because it can be made of a colorless and transparent plastic, for example of the "RHODOlD" type or of the polycarbonate type.

 - it leaves the tie free to move in the longitudinal direction.

 - it can be used immediately without requiring any intermediate fitting - with any tie and on any shirt.

- its installation is very easy and practically instantaneous
- its production in small, medium or large series is
extremely simple and its very low cost price.

 The present invention consists of an invisible device allowing the flexible holding of a tie against a shirt and constituted so as to only use, for its implementation, only two shirt buttons and the "loop" of the tie through which he passed. I1 is composed of two elongated elements, in which are provided narrow slots defining long aligned buttonholes intended to each receive a button of the shirt> able to move longitudinally inside the slot, a part intended to be threaded into the "passer" of the tie, ensuring the connection between said elements.

This device can take various forms as to its width
Ultimately it can be achieved using a semi-rigid round wire a few millimeters in diameter, folded at its ends to define the two elongated buttonholes and the thread being threaded into the "loop" of the tie before the introduction of the two buttons in the buttonholes.

 The model described below consists of an elongated plate comprising, at each end, a long slot intended to receive a button.

 The following description is given by way of explanation but is in no way limitative and represents only an example of embodiment of the invention.

 Figure 1 shows a front view of the device.

 Figure 2 shows - viewed in axial section - the device in use.

 Figure 3 shows in perspective, the position of the device in use - hidden by the tie and therefore shown in dotted lines.

 Referring to Figure 1, the device consists of a thin plate, preferably of colorless and transparent semi-rigid material - for example of the polycarbonate type or of the RHODOID type. This elongated rectangular plate (l) has in its median zone (2) a part whose width is slightly less than the usual length or opening of the tie loops - and at its two ends (3) and (4), two parts of smaller width in order - on the one hand to better conceal the device and on the other hand to make the buttonholes more elastic to facilitate the introduction of the buttons. These two parts are connected by curves on the middle part and terminate at their free ends by rounded parts.

 At the lower part (4) and at the upper part (3) there are respectively the elongated and narrow slots (5) and (7) intended to receive the buttons (6) and (8). These buttons can thus move freely in each of their slots which avoids any stress on the shirt whatever the interval between buttons of the shirt and whatever the curvature of the user's bust. Before the introduction of the button , the plate is passed through the loop (9) of the tie.

 Figure 2 which shows the device in use, shows the plate (1), with its slot (7) at the top (3), in which is the button (8), connected by the seam (12 ), to the shirt (10).

 The passer-by (9), secured to the large flap (llA) of the tie, surrounds the small flap (llB) and the middle part (2) of the plate.

Figure 3 shows in perspective, the device in progress
of use - hidden by the tie - therefore shown in
dotted. We see the "passer-by" (9), and the buttons (6) and
(8) passed through the elongated slots (5) and (7).

The device is put in place by making it
first cross the "passer-by" of the tie - then intro
duizing each button located on either side of the "passer-by",
in each of the two slots playing the role of buttonhole
leaving an intermediate button free because the distance
between the outer ends of the two slots corresponds
at a double interval of buttons.

As an indication: t 2: 2: slightly greater than the maximum distance between 3 buttons
for example 22 cm g 1: minimum distance between 3 buttons minus play due to
contortion of the trunk, for example 2.5 cl, for example 13 cm
so that the travel of the buttons in the slots is sufficient
to avoid creating tension or compression between bearing edges
extremes of the buttons.

The width e of the slot can be of the order of 3 mm so
what, combined with the flexibility of the material and a width
side of it for example 2 mm, it allows by spacing
the easy installation of the buttons while ensuring good
hanging.

The invention is not limited to what has just been described
thus the possible sliding of the button up and the
bottom of each slot, may only occur for one
slots, the other being replaced by a simple buttonhole,
possibly split towards the outer end to facilitate
the introduction of the button.

Claims 1. Device allowing the flexible maintenance of a tie  against a shirt by its "passer-by" characterized in  that it is composed of elongated elements (3) and (4) in  which are provided with narrow slots (5) and (7)  finishing long aligned buttonholes for  each receive a button on the shirt that can be removed  place longitudinally inside each slot and  of a part (1) crossing the "passer" of the tie  and ensuring the connection between said elements. 2. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that  that the connecting part (1) is constituted by a wire  semi-elastic round a few millimeters in diameter  folded at its ends to define the two buttonholes  elongated. 3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that  that it consists of a semi-rigid plate. 4. Device according to claims 1 and 3 characterized in  that the insert is made of colorless plastic and  transparent - for example of the polycarbonal type or  "RHODOID". 5. Device according to claims 1 and 3 characterized in  what the lower (4) and upper (3) parts  are narrower in width than the middle part (2)  to which they are connected - the middle part  having a width a little less than the width of the  passing the usual ties.
