Abstract

The device comprises a support 10, for example a waistcoat, produced in an inextensible flexible material suitable for being applied and held in position on a specified region of the body of the subject, this support having a certain number of passage orifices 18 created at chosen and marked out sites, as well as a metal stimulator 22 suitable for being applied successively through the various orifices 18 in order to exert pressure at the corresponding sites, giving rise to a tactile sensation on the body of the subject, so that the latter progressively learns to identify the site of any orifice 18 through which the stimulator 22 is inserted.

Description

The present invention relates to a device suitable for allowing a subject to concentrate on a determined point of his body.

The subject's faculty of concentration is thus strengthened, which makes him capable of then achieving a state of bodily relaxation and psychic rest.

The subject, who has thus arrived at this psychic state, is then in a condition to dominate himself and face the situations of aggression, in particular those of modern life.

To allow a subject to reach such a psychic state, one used until now the subject's own means of concentration.

However, it is recognized that the faculty of concentration is a subjective power which varies from one subject to another, so that the results obtained with traditional means are also very variable depending on the subject considered.

To help a subject to focus, it is known to jointly use means such as the sauna, hot water baths, yoga, compaction, etc.

However, even with this additional help, it is not possible to prevent arriving at the differences in results already mentioned.

In addition, it should be noted that the results obtained with the known means are generally provisional and that repeated treatments must be carried out so that these results can be maintained over time.

Furthermore, the known means do not make it possible to assess the progress made by a subject being treated.

Unlike the prior art, the invention aims to strengthen the faculty of concentration of a subject, using purely physical means.

This device is of a relatively simple constitution and mode of use, and it allows those who use it to gradually strengthen their ability to focus on a specific point on their body, and this after only a few sessions treatment.

The beneficial results obtained in the subject are better and more lasting than those obtained so far, whatever the subject concerned.

In addition, the device of the invention offers the additional advantage of making it possible to assess and concretely measure the progress made by the subject who uses it.

The device which forms the subject of the present invention essentially comprises a support made of an inextensible flexible material suitable for being applied and held in position on a determined region of the body. This support having a certain number of orifices passage formed in selected and identified locations, as well as a metal stimulator suitable for being applied successively through the various orifices of the support to exert, at the corresponding locations, a pressure generating a tactile sensation on the subject's body.

As a result, the subject gradually learns to identify the location of any orifice of the support through which the stimulator is introduced.

It is essential that the subject identifies the locations of the stimulator, through the orifices of the support, using only his own mental faculties, that is to say without identifying them by his physical faculties, in particular by the sense of touch or view.

This is the reason why the support is advantageously provided to allow the application of the stimulator on the back of the subject to be treated.

Thus, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, the support is produced in the form of a vest comprising a ventral face and a dorsal face, the orifices intended for the passage of the stimulator being formed only through the dorsal face of the vest .

In the following description, aonnec only by way of example, reference is made to the appended drawing, in which - FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a device according to the invention produced in the form of a vest with which it is associated a stimulator; and - Figure 2 is a sectional view through a passage opening of the vest of Figure 1, showing the iapplicaticn of the stimulator through this passage opening.

Device shown in Figure 1 comprises a support 1G in an inextensible flexible material, for example fabric, made in the form of a vest intended to be applied and held in the correct position on the torso of the subject to be treated. This vest is made in one piece by forming a ventral face 12 and a dorsal face 14 and providing a passage 16 for the subject's neck.

The dorsal face 14 has a certain number of passage orifices 18 which are thirty in number in the particular example shown in FIG. 1. These passage orifices are arranged in rows and columns each identified by a letter or a number marking, so as to be able to locate the location of each of the through holes 18.

In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the orifices 18 are arranged in five horizontal rows marked respectively with the letters A, B, C, D and E and in six vertical columns marked respectively with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. In this way, each orifice 18 can be identified by a letter and a number, for example At, C4, etc. The distance between two adjacent orifices 18 is the same, regardless of the region of the dorsal face 14.

Each of the orifices 18 of the dorsal face 14 has a circular shape and is surrounded by an extra thickness 20, advantageously made of rubber, which constitutes a holding guide for a stimulator 22 also forming part of the device (FIG. 2).

 Xe stimulator or explorer 22 is made of a metal and is intended to be applied successively through the different orifices 18 of the support, that is to say of the vest 10, to exert at the corresponding locations a pressure generating a tactile sensation on the body 24 of the subject.

The stimulator 22 is a cylinder, one end 26 of which is rounded and intended to be applied against the body of the subject, and the other end of which is provided with a handle 28. This stimulator is made of a heavy metal, such as lead or copper, preferably yellow copper. By way of example, the length of the cylinder can be 4 cm and its diameter 1.5 cm, the diameter of each of the orifices 18 then being slightly greater than 1.5 cm.

For the implementation of the invention, it is essential that the vest can always be put in the same position from one treatment session to another, so that the respective locations of the different orifices 18 can always be the same .

For this purpose, the vest includes fastening strips 30riz 302 and 303 as well as 321, 322 and 323 connected to the ventral face 12 and fastening strips 341 '342' 343 as well as 361 362 and 363 connected to the face back 14, to allow the vest to be held in the correct position on the subject's torso.

The aforementioned attachment bands are intended to cooperate two by two to ensure an adjusted support of the vest against the subject's torso. These fastening tapes can be adhesive tapes, strap tapes, etc.

In addition, the dorsal face 14 comprises, along its median axis, a strip 38, made of a transparent material, for example nylon, intended to be placed opposite the subject's spine. For example, the strip can be 10 cm long and 4 cm wide.

According to the invention, a vest 10 is part of a series of vests which differ from one another by the number and the spacing of the passage orifices 18. As will be seen below, this allows the subject to gradually use vests having more and more numerous and closer orifices.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a series of vests comprises three vests whose distance between the orifices 18 can be, for example, 5 cm for the vest intended to be used first, 3 cm for the vest to be used second and 2 cm for the vest intended to be used last.

The mode of use of the vest of the invention is as follows. The vest is made to wear to the subject to be treated by adjusting the fastening strips 30, 34, 32 and 36 and ensuring that the strip 38, made of transparent material, projects exactly onto the spine of the subject. There is thus the assurance that the vest is correctly placed on the subject's torso and that the position obtained will always be the same from one treatment session to another. The subject is asked to lie on his stomach on a comfortable examination table.

An operator, who is not necessarily a person with particular knowledge in the medical or paramedical field, places himself to the left of the subject if this operator is right-handed and to the right of the subject if this operator is a left-handed person.

Initially, the operator makes known to the subject the location and the nomenclature of the different points by successively placing the end 26 of the stimulator 22 from the first to the last orifice of the first row, and doing the same until in the last row.

Otherwise, the stimulator 22 is placed successively in the orifices identified by the symbols Ars ... A6, Bu .. B6, ..., El .. E6.

This operation, which in fact constitutes a learning operation, is repeated three times.

Then we go to the actual examination operation.

For this, the operator first works on the first row using close orifices, until the subject finally recognizes all the points of the first row, that is to say all the locations of the orifices. these Al, A2, ..., A6. Then, the operator proceeds in the same way for the second row and so on until the last row. At the end of this operation, the operator chooses any orifice 18 to introduce the stimulator 22, and the subject must be able to recognize any orifice through which the stimulator has passed.

This first series of operations was carried out with the first waistcoat or waistcoat No. 1.

The operator then uses the second vest or vest NO 2.

Finally, the operator performs the same operations with the third vest, or vest No. 3. After a few treatment sessions, there is an obvious improvement in the subject's concentration power, which is able to recognize more and more points, this that is to say of orifice locations 18 and with increasing ease.

When the subject is able to recognize the locations of the orifices of vest No. 1, the result is considered to be average. And when this subject is able to recognize the locations of the orifices of vests nO 2 and nG 3, we consider that the result can be qualified as good and very good respectively.

The vests of the invention can be produced according to different ranges of dimensions, as a function of the size of the subjects to be treated, it being understood that the vests of the same series must have exactly the same dimensions and differ only between them by the number and the space of the orifices.

This vest can be used not only by medical or paramedical specialists, but also by non-specialized people
It can be applied to both children and adults.

The faculty of concentration of the subject having been treated by the device of the invention is thus reinforced, which allows the subject to resist attacks of all kinds and to better control his own reactions.
The invention thus makes it possible to strengthen the will in psychologically weak subjects, such as for example drug addicts.

Device suitable for allowing a subject to concentrate on a determined point on his body, characterized in that it comprises a support (10) in an inextensible flexible material suitable for being applied and held in position over a determined region of the body, this support having a certain number of passage orifices (18) formed in selected and marked locations, as well as a stimulator (22) of heavy metal, to be applied successively through the various orifices of the support to exert , at the corresponding locations, a pressure generating a tactile sensation on the subject's body, so that the latter gradually learns to identify the location of any orifice of the support through which the stimulator is introduced. 2.
