Abstract

The anti-theft device according to the invention, particularly for belts, buckles, etc., consists of a plate 2 carrying a bolt 7 on its surface; this bolt is composed of a first loop 5, of a second loop 6 and of a blade 4 which engages stably in the said loops, the said plate 2 being provided, moreover, with a hook 3 for attaching the anti-theft device when it is clamped on the article to be protected.

STAFF IN GENERAL.

The present invention relates to an anti-theft device for belts, buckles and personal effects in general. Selling such items in department stores is problematic because of thefts.

The expedient imagined by the thief is simple: he puts the article on himself by pretending to try it and then he goes away, keeping the object as if it were his.

To remedy these unfortunate and commercially damaging facts, easy-to-take objects such as belts and similar clothing accessories are now kept locked up, which causes loss of interest by the consumer who being able to touch and try the item more before buying it, is less attracted to a purchase decision.

The present invention relates to an anti-theft device, in particular for buckles and belts in general, capable of overcoming the aforementioned drawbacks, while allowing the consumer to be able to try the protected article before buying it.

The anti-theft device according to the invention, in particular for belts, buckles, etc., is characterized in that it consists of a plate carrying on its surface a lock which comprises first and second loops, and a blade coming from 'Engage in these passers-by in a stable manner, said latch plate also comprising a hook part for attaching the anti-theft device when it is tightened on the object to be protected.

With particular reference to FIGS. 1 to 5, the anti-theft device according to the invention, which is generally designated by 1, comprises a plate 2 which can take any shape provided that its dimensions are large enough so that it is easy to notice and hard to hide.

On the top of said plate is a lock generally designated by 7, consisting as a whole of a first pass 5 and a second pass 6 obtained by molding directly on the plate 2, and of a locking blade 4.

In the example illustrated, the plate 2, which is rectangular, has a hook-shaped upper part 3 and also has a recessed area 8 intended to display data necessary for the sale of the object, such as prices, recommendations for use, trademarks or others.

The first pass 5 is hollow internally for reasons of lightening and has through openings 9 arranged in alignment with corresponding openings 10 and 26 of the second pass 6.

The edges of the opening 26 are shaped into latching elements to facilitate the engagement of the locking blade 4, but to prevent the separation of the two elements once the tightening is accomplished.

The locking blade 4 is a rectangular body on which there has been produced, by a notching and lifting operation, a flap 11 and a counter-flap 12 which, when the lock is biosued, constitute the immobilization elements of blade 4.

The front end of the blade 4 has an edge or point 15 which is blunt to facilitate its engagement in the openings 9, 10 and 26, while its rear end has a thickening 13 forming an abutment shoulder 14.

During use, the belt or buckle to be protected is placed between the first and second passers-by and it is made to engage by the locking blade 4 (as shown in FIG. 5); said blade, being pushed, penetrates by its edge 15 into the slots 9, 10 and 26; the flaps 11 and 12 flex elastically, slightly forcing the opening 26.

After passing through the opening 26, the flaps 12 and 11 resiliently return to the raised position, to immobilize the blade 4 in cooperation with the stop 14 which is located against the first passer-by 5.

The closure of the lock thus obtained is final and irreversible so that, to release the article, it will be necessary either to cut the blade 4, or to cut the plate 2 at the bolt 7.

From the above, we see the effectiveness of this means of protection against malicious people, who would be in difficulty, since they lack an effective cutting device and do not have enough time to manage to violate a such closure.

An alternative embodiment is shown in Figures 7 to 10.

The anti-theft device according to the invention has also been produced so as to be able to open it using a key provided for this purpose, which allows it to be reusable, and therefore particularly economical.

According to the variant of FIGS. 7-10 (where the elements similar to those of the previous solution are designated by the same references accompanied by the letter "A"), a boss 21 has been provided on a lateral face 22 of the second loop 6A, as well as a hole 23 in the sky thereof.

The blade 4A differs from the blade 4 by the absence of the counter-flap 12, while a flap 11A, obtained by notching and lifting from the blade 4A, is still provided.

The opening key of this anti-theft device, generally designated by 24, essentially consists of a curved end part 25 and a handle rod 26 which carries a needle 27 whose diameter and length are such that they allow said needle to penetrate inside the hole 23 in order to press on the shutter liA and push it elastically until it enters the profile of the blade 4.

To open the lock 1A, an operation which is carried out by the cashier, it suffices to hang the curved end 25 of the key 24 on the boss 21 so that the needle 27 engages in the hole 23 until it comes press on the shutter llA, which, returning to the profile of the locking blade 4A, releases the latter to allow it to be removed.

Claims  1. Anti-theft device, in particular for belts, buckles, etc., characterized in that it consists of a plate (2) carrying on its surface a lock (7) formed by a first pass (5) and a second pass ( 6), these passers-by being engaged in a stable manner by a blade (4), said plate (2) further comprising a hook (3) for attaching the anti-theft device when it is tightened on the article to be protected.  2. Anti-theft device according to claim 1, characterized in that the locking blade (4) comprises means (11), (12) and (14) allowing the definitive and immovable immobilization of said blade relative to passers-by in which that -this is committed.  3. Anti-theft device according to claims 1 or 2, characterized in that said permanent and irremovable immobilization means are flaps (11) and (12) located incidentally relative to the plane of said blade and cooperating with the edges of the opening (26) which are shaped to function as latching elements.  4. Anti-theft device according to claims 1 to 3, characterized in that it is recoverable, the sale made, by opening using a key-forming means.
