Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to systems relating to sliding on snow.
The purpose of this is to make it possible to link two piste skis in order to create a set similar to monoski: interdependent bi-skis. At present, there are two families of equipment on the international ski market:
- Alpine skis, the principle of which is known. Their behavior is characterized by the total independence of the two boards, hence the difficulty of keeping them parallel, which leads to many falls (crossing of the skis at the level of the tips or the heels of the skis).
- the monoski, a relatively recent development, is a large single board receiving two bindings. The problem of parallelism no longer arises, but it has the disadvantage of bearing only on a single edge during turns or cross-over crossings. This single edge grip at the level of the tip when the turn is triggered makes it excessive and leads the skier to a complete turn (3600); just observe the beginners on monoski. Both feet being held stationary, this position quickly causes cramps. The monoski can only be used as such.
The proposed invention is a device which combines these two types of equipment; it obviates their disadvantages and creates new pleasures of sliding on snow.
This device, while allowing the vertical freedom of one ski with respect to the other, maintains the parallelism of the underside of the skis (the trim) regardless of their offset in the vertical direction.
Referring to Figures 1 (assembly) and 2 (basic device), it can be seen that the entire device is essentially constituted by three pairs of supports 11 ', 22', 33 ': the first located at the rear bindings, the second just in front of the bindings and the third near the spatulas.
The supports 1,1 ', 2,2' each have two housings L1, L2 (Figure 2) whose axes are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ski and located in a plane which contains the interior edge of the ski or which is parallel to this one.
Two links B1 and 8'1 are installed on each support by means of two cylindrical pins (pin G1 and G2). The 4 pins fixed in the housings make it possible to obtain a deformable parallelogram assembly. The materialization of this parallelogram makes it possible to keep the parallelism of the underside of the skis in their central part whatever their vertical displacement. This results in a very interesting double edge take in turns and in direct tracks on flat ground or on slopes.
A flexible element (E) is interposed between the two links B1 and B 'in order to make the assembly more homogeneous (spring, rubber ball) and to facilitate return to the middle position.
Sticking to the 3.3 'supports (Figure 3) located near the spatulas, the system is simplified. The supports 3, 3 'each receive a flexible element O (rubber connection "sllet-block" The two flexible elements are connected together by a single link B3. The skis can therefore twist on their longitudinal axis. In this way, the below the skis, at the level of the supports 33 ′ can be oriented transversely and attenuate the excessive edge grip which is the great defect of the monoski.
The pair of supports 33 ′ may find another technological solution according to FIG. 4. Each of the supports 3,3 ′ has a housing (L4) whose articulation, parallel to the axis of the ski, is located in its median plane. A link (B4) is locked on each support by means of a cylindrical pin (pin G,) which allows pivoting around Oi
The heels of the skis not being interconnected leave the skis the possibility of undulating in this part.
This freedom at the tips and heels allows a comfortable sequence of turns.
The 3 pairs of supports 11 ', 22', 33 'are installed on the skis to keep them at constant spacing ("monoski" set with parallel edges) or at variable spacing ("monoski" set with edges fleeing backwards, more efficient in deep snow).
A first variant of the device is illustrated by FIG. 5 which represents a sectional view of a support which can pivot around its vertical axis; it is constituted by a support plate O fixed to the ski by the screws O in the thick parts of the ski or by threaded screws with countersunk heads O in the thin parts. This support plate, once fixed, maintains a rotating plate O made integral with the support by screw-nut system O. The assembly produced, allowing rotation on its vertical axis, creates longitudinal freedom of one ski with respect to the other while retaining the advantages of the prior system. This additive applies to 1.1 'and 2.2' supports. As for 3.3 'supports, this additive is useless since the flexible element allows this freedom, reduces fatigue and makes the initiation of turns similar to that practiced with alpine skis. The maximum longitudinal displacement is limited by the space left between the inner edges of the ski boots (a space of one centimeter allows a longitudinal displacement of nine centimeters, distance 03 04). This variant can be obtained by using a set of ball joints in order to produce the parallelogram assembly according to FIG. 6. The supports 1.1 ′ and 2.2 ′ receive -2 sets of ball joints 1 respectively locked by screws 2 and 3. The ball joints
are connected by a threaded rod O with locking nut O to adjust the spacing of the supports. At the level of the spatulas there is only one ball joint per support (Figure 6 ') to give the front of the skis a certain freedom ae pivoting.
With a second variant of the device, illustrated in FIGS. 7 and 8, it is possible to obtain a removable assembly. The possibility of quickly transforming a pair of alpine skis into a set of "interdependent bi-skis" makes it possible to ski touring for the ascent and to taste the joys of the "monoski" for the descent. For certain ski resorts where it is forbidden to use the ski lifts in monoski, this device circumvents the ban. We can remove or simply unlock the device to place it, perpendicular to its initial position, on a single ski. Figure 7 illustrates the removability of the system produced by a guide plate 1 located below each support ta nut-nut
This guide plate O is housed on a fixed rail plate fixed to the skis by the screws O in the thick parts of the ski or by threaded screws because of the thin or less resistant parts. The stop in translation of the guide plate 1 relative to the rail plate 3 is effected by a lug 6 pushed by spring, which ensures the locking of the assembly.
To decouple the two plates, simply retract the lug through the ball O and slide the guide plate onto the rail plate.
As the base of the rail plate 3 fixed to the ski is square, it is possible to lock in a position at 900 relative to the normal position of use, that is to say that the longitudinal axis of the device is located in the longitudinal axis of the ski. The reduced rail plate t installed on the ski to receive the second support (Figure 8: position of non-use of the system) allows the device to be fixed in the longitudinal axis of the ski.
Pour le système pivotant (Figure 9), l'ensemble est rendu amovible par l'adjonc tison d'une plaque rail 4' (identique au système non pivotant) rendue solidaire de la plaque tournante 4 vis, la plaque rail recevant le même dispositif démontable indiqué à la figure 7.For the swivel system (Figure 9), the assembly is made removable by the addition of a 4 'rail plate (identical to the non-swivel system) made integral with the 4-screw turntable, the rail plate receiving the same device removable shown in figure 7.
ta biellette 33, relative à la paire de supports 3,3', située à l'avant des skis peut recevoir une petite spatule pour empêcher toute remontée de neige. lors de la pratique du dispositif en neige profonde, Figure 10.your link 33, relating to the pair of supports 3.3 ′, located at the front of the skis can receive a small spatula to prevent any rise in snow. when practicing the device in deep snow, Figure 10.
By modifying the shape of the upper links B1 and B2, pairs of supports 1,1 'and 2,2', these can receive in elevation a plate making it possible to practice snowboarding (Figure 11). This plate, the edges of which are slightly raised, is fixed to the rods by means of flexible elements (Sllent-block ') to improve the comfort of the system.
To make the device of the two pairs of supports 1,1 'and 2,2' more compact, each support can be fixed or be an integral part of the base of each ski binding; this makes it possible to benefit from the screws for the implantation of the fixations Figure 12.
Some elements that make up the device can be made of a composite material, such as KEVLAR, Carbon fiber.
