Abstract

  The present invention relates to a packaging for

  The invention will be better understood on reading the

  Referring to the drawings, the package (Figure 3a) is formed from an elongated blank 10 (Figure 1) of

  cardboard or any other foldable sheet material if-

  Two openings 46 and 48, each intended to receive the body of a container, are cut in the bottom wall 18, and the containers to be packaged are

  between opposite cutting lines 62 and 64.

  The blank 10 thus described is adapted to receive two frustoconical containers with rim c. The containers to be packaged are introduced into the openings 46 and 48 with their small diameter bases forward. Because each articulated tongue 50 and 58 hinders the passage of a container through the corresponding opening,

  these tabs are moved in the direction of the in-

  containers and pivot around their respective joints. The pivoting movement of each articulated tongue gradually increases as the containers are introduced

  more in the openings due to the pro-

  gressively growing containers. The pivoting of the articulated tongues causes the adjacent material m of the bottom wall panel to deform out of the

  plan of this panel, thus allowing a small increase

  introduced into openings 46 and 48.

  After the containers have been completely inserted, the blank can be wrapped around the upper portions of the containers to complete the packaging. For this purpose, the upper wall panel 14 is made to cover the tops of the containers, and portions of the upper rims of the containers are thus introduced into the slots 38 and 40. Furthermore, the side wall panel 20 and the panel returned 22 are folded up so that the slots 42 and 44 receive diametrically opposite portions of the upper edges of the containers. To complete the packaging, the sizing flap 12 is folded down around the fold line 24 so as to cover the side wall 20 and is glued there; during this operation, the slots 34 and 36 receive the portions of the upper flanges

projecting slots 42 and 44.

  The joint of the tabs 50 and -58, which causes

  the deformation of the marginal parts of the lower panel

  the containers fit tightly in the blank.

Claims.   1. Packaging of a multiplicity of   containers (c), which package includes an inner wall   bottom (18) having openings (46, 48) in which the containers are received so that the bottom wall portions of the containers are disposed below the bottom wall, side walls (16, 20) flanking portions upper wall of the containers, and an upper wall (14) covering the tops of the containers, characterized in that this lower wall has an articulated tongue (50,   58) projecting into each space defined by an or-   lower wall groove adjacent to each of the ex-   opposite hoppers of this bottom wall, which   tabs are pivoted by the reci-   pients so that marginal portions (m) of the bottom wall are deformed out of the plane thereof, from which it follows that the tongues engage with   wall portions of the containers.   2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that each articulated tongue is engaged with a   lower portion of a container.   3. Packaging according to claim 1 or the claim   tion 2, characterized in that the articulation of each   tongue is obtained by a portion of the wall infz-   lower placed between two cutting lines extending   from opposite ends of the tongue towards   tion of each other, but stopping at a certain distance from each other.   4. Packaging according to claim 3, characterized in that the marginal portions of the lower wall are provided by portions of the lower wall disposed between each of the cutting lines and the   adjacent edge of the bottom wall.   5.
