Abstract

The invention relates to a device for operating a rectangular wicket for a dam installed in a stream. Each wicket pivots about a horizontal shaft which is solidly fixed to the bottom. The wicket is inclined via a triangular frame pivoting about a pivot pin. This frame is equipped with a roller which describes an arc of a circle whose centre is a pivot pin placed at the level of the horizontal shaft. Each gate may lie in a horizontal position after folding down on to the bottom, a vertical position or any other intermediate position when the dam is in service. The judicious assembly of these wickets and their control device constitute a dam for a stream, river, canal, inlet or outlet channel.
