Abstract

The invention relates to a device which makes it possible to release a buoy as soon as a person falls into the sea without manual intervention. It consists of a box 1 enclosing in the upper part the release mechanism and in the lower parts on one side the buoy 2 and on the opposite side the bobbin 15. Triggering of the release is carried out by the transmitter carried by the solitary navigator; upon contact with the water, the transmitter transmits a pulse to the receiver 3 which supplies the electromagnet 4 and frees the buoy 2. The contactor 22 connects into the circuit the visual 5 and acoustic 16 devices, stops the motor or interrupts the automatic control. Resetting the device is carried out by pulling the knob 7. To restart the motor in the presence of a crew, release can be brought about by pressing push-button 8. The device according to the invention is particularly intended to increase the chances of rescue of solitary sailors.
