Abstract

The machine empties grain from a vertical cylindrical silo, using a revolving helical screw (8) which pivots about the vertical silo axis to sweep the floor. A rubber wheel (68) rolling on the silo floor has rotational motion generated by the screw. Intermittent rotation is transmitted to the rubber wheel by an offset crank pin 60) and a linearly reciprocating strap (61). The one way strap motion is transmitted to an intermediate wheel (65) by an articulated (64) shoe (62) equipped with a brake block (63) and secured by a spring (67). A second articulated (71) brake block (70) applied by a second spring (74) prevents reverse rotation and strap amplitude may be regulated by a cam (75).
