La présente invention a pour objet un madrier compo; site pour la construction de chalets, constitué par une âme en matière isolante interposée et collée entre deux pièces longitudinales de bois formant les faces latérales du madrier. Le madrier représenté comprend deux pièces longitudinales de bois 1, s'étendant sur toute sa longueur, formées chacune de deux planches collées la et lb, et qui constituent les faces latérales du madrier. Une âme 2 de matière plastique isolante, formée par exemple de mousse de polyuré- thane expansée à pores fermés, est interposée entre les deux pièces latérales 1 auxquelles elle est collée.
