Abstract

The portable reclining baby's chair (1) is for strapping (6) onto the rear seat squab of an automobile, giving reclined chair position with the sub-frame (4) fully supported by the squab. It uses twin cross braced side frames, each comprising an 'L' shaped chair support (2) mounted on a 'J' shaped base bar (4). Pin-jointed (P) legs (3,9) connect each support to each bar (4) giving a four sided folding frame by which seat inclination is adjusted. A support (2) mounted toothed segment (11) obtains a latching effect, engaged by a recoil sprung (15) lever (14) mounted bolt (12) in rectangular section bar. The segment (11) may have end stops (17), the bolt being disengaged by sliding until a segment aligns with a notch (13).
