Abstract

The mobile silos (1) are mounted adjacent and each have a bottom discharge at the base of the integral hopper (4,5). The pair of silos are mounted on a framework (2) supported by a pair of wheels (3). The hinged arms (6,7) are fitted to pivot about the (X) and (Y) vertical axes. The filling system (8) consists of a loading hopper and any sort of elevator or pneumatic handler to fill the silos. The filling system can be moved to fill either silo or for stowage.

Description

The present invention relates to a mobile storage device for bulk product, particularly, although not exclusively, intended for agriculture.

We already know to store fertilizers, animal feed, grain, etc ..., mobile storage devices that can be placed in any desired location, for their supply of product they contain or l use of said product. Thanks to their mobility, these storage devices can be easily moved from one place to another, so that there is always a reserve of product or a storage capacity for any desired movement.

Such storage devices generally consist of a hopper-shaped reservoir which can be loaded from the top and emptied from the bottom.

These storage devices have many advantages.

However, they require loading and unloading devices, such as grasshoppers, to load them from delivery trucks and to unload them into use trailers. It is therefore compulsory to provide and bring on site such a loading and unloading device for each operation, which, on the one hand is exacting and, on the other hand, is often subject to oblivion.

The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback.

To this end, according to the invention, the mobile storage device for bulk product comprising at least one hopper that can be loaded from the top and unloadable from the bottom, is remarkable in that it is associated with a mobile handling device of the type grasshopper, connected to it by a system of articulated arms which carry it and which allow it at least to come either to be lodged under each of the hoppers with a view to unloading them, or to be placed in the loading position of each of said hoppers or well still be placed as an extension of said storage device, in particular during displacements of the latter.

Advantageously, this system of articulated arms comprises two arms articulated between them, one of said arms being articulated on the storage device in the vicinity of one of the angles thereof, while the other arm carries said handling device.

The figures of the appended drawing will make it clear how the invention can be implemented.

Figure 1 shows in external perspective a mobile storage device according to the invention, the handling device being mounted in the loading position of one of the hoppers.

Figures 2 to 4 schematically illustrate a top view of a plurality of relative positions of the mobile storage device and the handling device.

The mobile storage device 1 shown in these figures is for example of the type described in French patent application N079 20769 filed on August 16, 1979 in the name of
Applicant. I1 comprises a chassis 2, capable of being made mobile by means of retractable wheels 3 and supporting two separate hoppers 4 and 5.

In horizontal projection, the frame 2 is rectangular and, at one of these corners, the end of a first arm 6 is articulated around a vertical axis X-X. At its end opposite the axis X-X, the arm 6 is articulated at one end of a second arm 7, around an axis Y-Y, also vertical.

The end of the arm 7 opposite the Y-Y axis supports a handling device 8, for example of the type described in French patent application N077 38792 filed on November 27, 1974 in the name of the Applicant. The device 8 is articulated on the arm 7 around an axis Z-Z, also vertical.

As shown in Figure 1, the system of articulated arms 6 and 7, allows, by means of the device 8, the loading from the top of each of the hoppers 4 or 5, from a supply source not shown . I1 also allows the unloading of each of the hoppers 4 and 5 (see FIGS. 2 and 3) into a container for use, for example a trailer, not represented by the intermediary of said device 8.

 Finally, as illustrated in FIG. 4, the handling device 8 can be brought into alignment with the mobile device 1 (dotted position), for example during the movements of the latter, again this device can indeed be used for a loading or unloading operation not involving the hoppers 4 and 5 (position in solid line in FIG. 4).

In the road position (dotted position in FIG. 4, it is advantageous to provide a device 8 locking device on the device 1.

Claims (2)

1.- Mobile storage device for product by combining at least one hopper which can be loaded from the top and which can be unloaded from the bottom, characterized in that it is associated with a mobile handling device of the grasshopper type, connected to it by a system of articulated arms which carry it and which allow it at least to come either to be housed under each of the hoppers with a view to unloading them, or to be placed in the loading position of each of said hoppers, or else to be placed in extension of said storage device, especially during movement thereof. 2.- Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the articulated arm system comprises two arms articulated together, one of said arms being articulated on the storage device in the vicinity of one of the angles thereof, while that the other arm carries said handling device.
